Anyway was *looking* at a Hello Kitty doll the other day.... and this story suddenly came up....

HELLO KITTY SCANDAL

SINGAPORE-Local feline celebrity Dear Daniel shocked wife Hello Kitty and the whole of Singapore yesterday when it was revealed he was already married-to six different women.

Apparently over a brief period of six weeks a couple of years ago, Dear Daniel entered into nuptial arrangements with several other cats, all of different ethnic origins.

"The truth only came to light recently," said investigating officer ASP Masak bin Kucing.

"Several witnesses came together and compared their accounts of having attended Dear Daniel's weddings."

"Yah lor," said Ms Chao Lian Huay, 17.

"I attended Dear Daniel's wedding at Bukit Batok Town Centre MacDonalds, only to discover that he got married again next week at Ang Mo Kio Central MacDonalds."

"Very the hojjiber," agreed Ms Soo Per Lien.

Dear Daniel is currently being investigated for offences under the Womens' Charter. Pictures have surfaced of the philandering pussycat roaming around town with yet-unidentified female companions.

Dear Daniel has vigorously denied all allegations, saying it's a conspiracy by Burger King and KFC.

As for Hello Kitty, she has declined any public comments.

Privately, however, sources close to her have disclosed she finds the evidence compelling, and has left the exclusive bookshelf she shares with Dear Daniel. She has also been seen as being comforted by close friend and confidante Snoopy.

All attempts by the press to obtain comments from Dear Daniel's alleged wives have been unsuccessful, mostly because they all have no mouths.

Sigh, looking at the bad news I keep reading in the newspapers, I am glad I found this article. Not really news, but nevertheless it was *damn funny*.

Seeing the lack of good news in Singapore, I decided to organise an intra-class online writing competition. Called "Un-True Journalism" (fancy word for outrageous science-fiction), the guidelines for this competition is simple. Just pluck out some REAL news from the papers, twist it a bit, and give a happy ending.

Some examples of probable headlines to give you some ideas:

"Osama Bin Laden Captured: Had Been Posing As A Jaga in Local JC!"

"George Bush Jr Admits His Infatuation For Saddam: It's The Moustache!"

The aim of this competition is to see whom of our classmates are potential journalists.

The prize for this competition is you get to be one of the Moderators of this board. I figured if you can write a good funny story, you have a talent that is meant to be wasted here.

Plus, the winner of this competition will be voted by the rest. Submit your entry by posting your news article on the board.
