I think the resistence we are seeing is more than "people will settle into, adapt to, and learn to accept the situation in which they live. People being naturally disposed to defend and support their living environment will obviously react negatively and often violently when sudden changes are forced upon them." What's happening now is well beyond the Scarlet Letter dis-comfort zone. People so accustomed as you describe to being driven by others would be tending to the Stockholm reaction -- identify with the [new] overlord. Instead, this is more of "it wasn't your fight, america! We will do our intra-niceine sparring ourselves, thank you very much. And while we are at it, let us show you how we can work together to fight back at you."
Without American meddling to forment and be a catalyst of uprisings in small, poor nations around the world will have to work things out for themselves. Are any of you parents of more than one kid? How long does the usual sibling fight last when mom or pop ignores it? What about the squabbles when the 18 foot giant (you or another adult) intervenes -- those squabbles NEVER end!! They become the fodder for "mom loved you best" arguments till the end of time. Intervention by the controller eventually saps the controller's power and turns the squabblers into manipulators.
Inflation & interest rates -- give me more on these hypotheses -- at first blush these appear counter-iintuitive.
Israel as outlaw nation -- I will admit a potential bias on this one -- having seen the tattoos of Holocast survivors first hand, I question my objectivity. But it is interesting that there was not a New Israel carved out of Germany which is where so many lost so much as a result of the Holocast.
RDB -- you have a way with words: "we need to get our asses up off of everyone else's toilets"! That seems to be the problem; we want to mark every tree we pass by.
The moron is not the fellow who disagrees with me but the one who cannot see that there are more visions than the one he thinks he sees.
