Thing about economics is that there is only so much stuff to go around. If you'd like a more stable work environment you'll lose growth. I am sure the likes of China wouldn't mind making up the slack and taking the extra money. Though you do need some stablity to make sure the people have a decent idea of what they can afford to buy & save.

If you'd like to try both, wouldn't be too surprising to end up with some inflation. Which in the end would have to cause things to happen in the economy that would cause job loss.

The one thing you could say about the US economy is that its never really that good, nor is it really ever that bad. If there are good times today, probably be bad times ahead. If there are bad times today, probably be good times ahead.
