Well thanks for all of the replies guys, except for the dude with the empty political statements. I was hoping for answers which were a bit more thought-out. So far I have what amounts to little more than some jouvenilistic, lewd rantings about the pleasures of the female anatomy, and another individual regurgitating leftist-hippy spew while referring to all who may disagree as male genitalia.

Frankly, you all are disappointing me.

First I wouold like to address the one good point raised by the Dog Bastard, Rob, and that is the idea of commercializing our efforts to get into space. This is a good, logical idea that warrants all of the consideratioin that the current administration is giving to it. However, I disagree.

The belief that faith placed in capitalism to initiate the colonozation of the moon is nothing more than wishful thinking. All one has to do is look to the past to see that all of the great migrations were initiated by political interests. For example, our own country was colonized by the English.

Another thought is do you really want to entrust your human rights to a conglomerate? Can you imagine being in space and being subject to the whims of a massive capitalist organization? Have you ever worked for Convergys? Imagine if they got us there! I would much prefer the protection of a governmentally established colony with all of the benefits of our nations constitution.

I think we need to exploit the moon as a nation before we can hope to exploit it commercially.
