Government worries about who "marries" whom, but ignores poisons in our drinking and ground water, radon in our neighborhoods, sink holes in our housing developments, etc. Caveat emptor!! Let competition police the markets!!

If less government is conservative, why does conservative government feel the compulsion to define marriage? One cannot legislate love. Can a government ensure that any marriage will be a loving marriage? No -- the most that government can do is address the property and financial ramifications of marriage or dissolution of marriage. In that case, why is the sex of a marriage participant material? (Maybe to ensure the hook-ups make more kids to grow up to work to pay taxes for the programs the government can establish to perpetuate itself?)

Government is GREAT, so long as it endores what I believe! Government is BAD when I don't like what it does!!
