Dammit - I was about to go and then I stumble on this!

In no way does a conservative doctrine entail banning gay marriage. Marry whoever you want. Christian Conservatives (the ones in power), do however see a problem with Gay marriage and this is because they've made the fatal error of mixing politics with religion. This is just the same as the Rev. Jesse Jackson (criminal) pushing his religious views on the liberals. He is a Christian Liberal (is that a double negative??).
