I think the problem that is in order to climb the ladder in either of the major political parties you have to place yourself at their mercy. In this long, arduous process of political 'building' you are forced to compromise your personal values so many times that the men we see running for president have nothing at all to do with the men who started off in politics.

This is why we as the voters need to encourage more third-party candidates to come out of the woodwork. While we know that voting for the little guy won't get us immediate results (a non Republican/Democratic president) at least by showing up in numbers at the ballots, the good candidates who DO exist out there might stop and think to themselves, "Well, I've got a shot now, maybe I'll throw my hat in the ring."

Anyway. Don't vote for Kerry or Bush, they are one in the same, manufactured by the huge politcal machine - vote for someone else.
