Shit is right. Still grasping the mangled corpse with lethal talons and jaws, the serpent spied dessert approaching all too quickly. Scales quivering along its flesh, the beast uttered a hushed woofing purr-like sound. Fiercely snapping its tail, which appeared to be all muscle, sent bricks and rubble crumbling to the alley below. The stench of rotting flesh already filled the air. Acid saturated saliva caused flesh to melt at its touch, forming a pool of foulness at its toes. Silence. For a half breath, there was nothing and then…

SCREEEEEECH!

Melting flesh slopped to the tar and asphalt roof of The Warehouse as four lean muscular limbs catapulted the predator in the direction of the female. Up over the ledge, bricks splintered beneath its flesh as it bounced off the wall of the adjacent building. Street lights glimmered off the beast’s shingled hide and the curls of silver around its slender throat as it moved.
