I never wrote that a life was saved every time a gun is used in defense. Not once. However, that doesn't change the fact that millions of people defend themselves with firearms every year.

I'd throw my hands up in the air and hope he didn't take the shot, but that's me. Considering that in the majority of gun defenses shots aren't fired -- a fact which you forget at your convenience -- I think a lot of criminals also go that route or try to run anyway.

Once again, you conveniently forget the above fact. Yes, we do tell the criminal to leave. The difference is that we punctuate the statement with an exclamation mark.

Cut out the sensationalized, "you think you need guns to live" garbage and that might be a fair statement.

Whether or not guns would "work" in Holland is an unrelated issue.
