I think people feel that war's good for the economy because we all live in the shadow of wwII.
I think wwII was great for the economy, despite the tremendous destruction --- but, it was an exception.
all the points made in that article are certainly true.

the fact is, we've basically been getting all the positive benefits from war ever since wwII because we've basically been at war, only w/o the fighting.
we've maintained the spending, but w/o the destruction.
there are better ways we could've used that money, but it certainly wasn't holding us back.

once we conq...free iraq, we need to employ the slant oil drilling company to suck the oil out from under the saudis.

ps

war was great for the romans, too, but that was a whole different deal.
