Subject: Miss La Crosse Pageant Recap

Finally sometime to recap the show from the audience perspective.

WOW! What a show. If you were not able to attend you missed out on one hell of a show. This is a full on production and I have to say probably one of the most well produced local pageant in Wisconsin. As someone who traveled in from out of town to attend I was HIGHLY impressed from the moment I got there.

1) Free parking at the venue.
2) Gorgeous venue.
3) The lighting and sound was tip top. They had lighting as good if not better then Miss Wisconsin. The production level was right up there with the state competition.
4) Great choice in emcee. Chelsea Lovell is a great emcee, she is professional and easy to listen to. She kept the show running well and was a fun emcee.
5) The judges panel was well deserved and from all areas. It looks like from 3 different states from the program book. Oh, and FREE program books. I loved that they accepted donations to the program for the program books.
6) A great selection of silent auction baskets for anyone who wanted to take part in that. My only suggestion there would be a few more options for kids/men! Nothing for my husband to really bid on. And most of the items included local gift cards so for those of us from out of town it really narrowed down what we bid on.
7) A discount on a local hotel! It was right downtown La Crosse so we made a weekend out of it with our family. So many fun options to pick from to do.
8) The directors came out and did an award recognition for some of the volunteers for 30 and 40 years and a Miss America Spirit Award (did not catch the name). WOW! Had me in tears. This was class act. These guys are really something special.

This was our first time at an Oktoberfest pageant as our family is new to pageants and we were blown away by the level of professionalism that the guys have. They came around after the pageant and talked to so many people. They acknowledged us for driving so far to attend. They were hugging contestants who did not place and were crying, they were talking to parents of the girls, and you can see why this pageant has such a following. They gave out like $20,000 in scholarships in one night. No wonder they have such a following and now my daughters want to go to school in La Crosse to run for their pageant.

My only "negative" would be the reception afterwards. It was confusing when and where that was happening. I wish that was more planned out. Maybe instead of the girls coming off of the stage maybe the come out of the side door or something. It was hard to understand when and where it was going to happen.

Overall this was one of the best nights in Wisconsin pageantry. Way to go guys!
