Subject: Welcome to the Final Buffy Blow-out Bash GOOD MORNING get-together, everybody...

This thread is an opportunity to start your day off on a happy and friendly note, get to know your fellow posters, and [most importantly] to have a good time. So don’t be shy... chat up your fellow Boardies....

Well, tonight is it.... A moment of anticipation for some...dread for others.... Let’s party!!!!!!! and make this a memorable send-off for a memorable show...

I will provide some refreshments, and make sure all of the ‘bots are in working order and are *ahem* fully functional. Please, take advantage of our extensive selection from both BTVS and AtS. In honour of finale Nerf Herder and 4Star Mary, two bands intimately associated with BtVS will perform. Crazy dancing with abandon is encouraged.The hot tubs are fired up and scented with lavender and chamomile essence to ease any anxiety, and the steam room is ready for some steamy groping...

You are welcome to bring food, entertainment and special requests for music... All antics that lead to laughter [and GROPING or SPANKING or LICKING] are allowed!!! Oil is provided. Today we have edible almond oil in squeeze bottles. So let the licking... em... partying begin....



Today’s spread includes: Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, and Vodka screwdrivers to blur any pain; muffins: lemon-blueberry, brown-sugar pecan streusal, and double chocolate chunk; 20 different kinds of bagels hot from the wood-burning oven [how they are traditionally made in Montreal] with some smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomatoes, and onions, croissants, pain au chocolat, and the full fixings for a Devon cream tea; freshly made green olive bread with tofu-veggie spread; and as a special treat today, giant chocolate chip peanut butter cookies.

I have also brought gallons of coffee, Jamaican Blue Mountain, various lattes, including a iced espresso one, Assam tea, green tea with ginseng, and buckets of foamy hot chocolate with marshmallows. Milkshakes are now a regular part of the daily menu, both soy and dairy! Freshly squeezed OJ by the pitcher...

And for those who are living the life in a later time zone, some Stella Artois.... with a blooming onion to nosh on with creamy horseradish sauce... and a few spicy wings.... We also have single malt scotch, a good British beer [any suggestions?], and other toasting liquids.....

The ‘Bots are ready to serve you, so what will you have...

Hi morgain. How will I watch Buffy? Well, very late in the evening (probably around midnight) and probably crying and sniffing the whole way through. I have rum - I think alcohol will be called for. Kind of boring but I will be out all evening unfortunately. Wish I was at a Buffy party but don't know of any in my area unfortunately.

...take a look at the thread we were using yesterday down there on this board. I tried to post an image to see whether it's working or not, but could you check for me. Sometimes even if it doesn't work generally the image appears on my browser only. So I can't tell with these things. Hence, me thinking I had posted a flying tomato a few weeks ago, because I could see the image but no-one else would be able to! Grrrr....technology.

I posted the new image down there under my mad rant about Take That and Cheese...What was I on about?! *shakes head* Was feeling rather dippy yesterday, anyway...if you could just take a look to check *crosses fingers*. Here's hoping I got it right this time...doh!

It is basically simple instructions for kids (doh!) on how to build a website. Not much use for me trying to work out what's up with my html on this board. But the instructions it gives do officially work as I used some of them to start building my site. HTML is very fiddly stuff, and rather
repetitive but not too hard to do. Unless something goes wrong and then you have to work out what went wrong & that is rather difficult.

If this worked, I used the following string, using < and > in place of the *

It looks to me like what you used was

and the problem is, you should not use the quotation marks.

I'm spoiled enough to already be over my rant about the bits I won't like, so now I can watch it and enjoy the good. Particularly looking forward to what the script can't convey: the soundtrack, the special effects and especially the actor's performances... The last four episodes they have taken what seemed blah scripts and turned them into enjoyable watching experiences... I have high hopes for more of the same tonight. The sadness of no more Buffy may not really hit me until tomorrow.

QotD: The preparations:

I tried to cast a spell on the Dallas Mavericks basketball team. I wanted them to lose. That way they would not preempt Chosen. The spell had partial success. Although the Mavericks won, their schedule does not include playing on Tuesday this week. She-who-likes-basketball is not pleased that I even did the spell.

I consulted with the DawnBot and WillowBot about removing or reversing it. DawnBot pointed out that it may have been responsible for the winning and She-who-likes-basketball would like it left in place. After all, they beat a team that had their number all season. Smart DawnBot.

The plans:

Since there is no conflict, I get to watch the finale on the big TV tonight. Afterward, I'll watch 24. There is no way the board will be operational one minute after Chosen ends.
Hmmm. Perhaps I shouldn't taunt VoyLock.

They do all these commercials with this cheesy Australian accent where they show something and say the Australian word for it (which is different than the American word) then wrap it up by showing a Foster beer bottle and claiming Foster is the Australian word for beer.
At least I think it's a cheesy imitation Aussie accent, I'll be embarressed if I find out it's an actual Aussie doing the accent.
By the way, and I'm turning into a girl as I say this, I miss the little koala in the Qantas commercials. He was funny. :-(

the first 20 mins were awful though as it was really staged and a bit too...eeshk! Jeremy Sisto has NO chemistry with Katie Holmes.

Well, on top of it being both my first birthday away from my oft-mourned hometown (I moved last year) *and* the BtVS series finale night...I'm also PMS'ing something heavy. So - you guessed it - I'll be spending my evening in front of the television, sobbing hysterically while simultaneously cramming cake in my mouth and - no doubt - freaking out m'boyfriend something fierce.

Mmm. Fun times ahead. ;)

I think I will be okay most of the time - except for certain scenes. Just make sure you have enough wine! AotD: No special prep. I saw screen caps yesterday that numbed me somewhat to the worst of it. And, I'll see three days of discussion prior to actually getting the episode, so that'll help. I may have to get restraints for Mrs. Sharky, though, as I fear she might hurt herself (or the TV).

A special word concerning the DSN: I never bookmarked the Sigma board until last night's fiasco, where I spent two hours fruitlessly (yup, no fruit for Sharky) trying to post the DSN on Alpha and noted that Beta has a sadistic intelligence test posted in the "Add Post" area. I try Alpha first as that's the place Board Momma told me to post.

Tonight, if all else fails, we'll be here if it's up.

I have very mixed feelings about the ending. I read Stiney's wildfeed and unless I download the ep I won't be seeing it until August as this is when our local network says it will air. I will sit at home alone with a box of tissues and my eyes glued to the screen.

Oh dear. Buffy's finishing and I have a big test tomorrow. Grrrrr. I was going to spend today revising, but I got writing some fic instead... Then I did revise a bit, which I've been doing for an hour, but I've given myself a break. Then I'll do another hour. Then a break... etc

Its been hell staying away from the boards the last few days (I didnt want to be around for the wildfeed onwards), but now I'm back.

Already watched the finale, and I watched it on my computer, alone, with a glass of wine.

Doubly sad though, since the last episode of Buffy ever coincides with the last week of my full time education ever. The loss!
