Midnight mare stands just outside the grove, listening carefully. She heard the tiny whinny of the newborn foal, and relief flooded her body. She realized she had been holding her breath. Chancing a look in, violet eyes adjust slowly to the much dimmer light. With awe and a tiny inkling of undeveloped motherly love she watches the young foal in it's first minutes of life. She was almost jealous, in a way, for she doubted if X could even have foals anymore. Sometimes she forgot how great the agespan was between them. "She's beautiful," she whispered in a hushed fashion.
