Subject: Permanent stranger

There is no melodramatic entrance this time, no haunted calls to absent friends; only the introspective, uneven rhythm of black hooves indicate the presence of a taught-lean bay stallion of an age that is indeterminated but leaning towards youth. However, it appears to be a youth robbed of all those much-touted attributes that are supposed to make that time of life so glorious, and his deep black eyes hide a strong but damaged soul.

Now that strange gaze lifts from the ground he has been covering to trace the forms of the new inhabitants of the place where the Arabian had been raised. But... only the vaguest memories are brought to mind by these teasingly familiar shapes, any meaningful recollection painfully out of reach. He draws to a halt, hooves planted once more in the soil of his oldest home, and simply breathes and reflects for a long, surreal moment.
