The senior community we're in has the cottages (where we are) 3 large apartment buildings, and one completed, one under construction for Assisted Living and you have to be 62 to live here.
My MIL is in the "Memory Care" center and there are some funny, crazy, sweet, busy, nearly comatose people in her area. Until very recently there has been a big sweet, lovable Golden Retriever named Dusty. She is the dog of one of the residents and they allowed her to come live with her "Mom" - but for some reason she's MIA lately (truly hope she's OK).
I have thought of taking Lulu......she is SUCH a lap dog. If she meets someone new and they are sitting - she's RIGHT in their lap. We recently did a HI where the lady had several kids with problems (I think it might have been Fetal Alcohol Syndrome). One of them was very large (as big as Vern) and was sitting in a big chair and Lulu scrambled right up. All the other kids had to take turns in the chair so they could have 'the Lulu experience' too.
I think both Mack and Lulu would be good in the situation where they snuggle with the kids and get read to. They would have to be well exercised first, get all their greetings out of the way and settle down.......just don't know if everyone could live through the settling down process. LOL.
