Did your vet mention what grade he rated her murmur at? I had 3 vets rate tony's at all different numbers so really its the cardiologist who you want to be the judge of this.

ton'y cardiolgist rated his at a 4 which is a BIG BIG murmur and its not going to cause a problem for him so don't worry yourself until you have a full work up done, MOST murmurs in boxers are not a big deal as it can be with other breeds. you REALLY want to go right to a cardiolgist. I would not even bother having your vet do any kind of a work up cuz its only going to be repeated ast Tony's, Tigra's and Mac's all were.. so you will spend money twice. Trust me I have been down this road twice now and its all going to be repeated, I even brought my x-rays with me and they still re did all of them.

only a cardilogist that is trained can tell you what the reason for the murmur is, it could be Cardiomyapthy, Sas or both or none of the above. and this is not a death sentence so don't worry to much until you get the Cardilogist to look at her. Tigs also has a murmur that comes and goes and hers is rated a 2. she has had it since she was a puppy and it has never caused her an issue until she hit 11 and as you know she has boxer CM now... The meds now a days can really help your girl should she need them but hopefully she won't. Tony is sooo lucky as he has 2 serious heart conditions but they are congenital and are not going to pose any problems with his heart so lets hope Lulu's murmur is the same deal. It's not a death sentence but its so good to know what her condition is by having a full work up done yah your vet can do the x-ray to see if her heart is enlarged but remember, boxers hearts are bigger than most dogs so this can often throw a vet off to say yes, its enlarged when in fact this is a normal sized heart for a boxer, when you take her in to see the cardilogist you will get all the test done, this will include her BP being taken, a chest x-ray, an echocardiogram to look at the valves and the way the heart flows etc and an ECG ( EKG) and possibly a holter monitor but that is more for an arythmia which she doesn't have so don't panic yet... That comes later... hugs for her and you, I will be waiting for an update, please keep us posted and my prayers and good thoughts are with Lulu right now!

Lisa
