Several people have told me I'm wonderful and saved him from the brink of death......but it's not true. A LOT of people who care made this happen.
He was picked up by AC in Sacramento, Ca., taken to the shelter and shortly put on petfinders.com He was quickly seen there by NCBR's adoption co-ordinater (who works full time) in WISCONSIN and she called our Treasurer (who works full time)in the Sacramento area. The next call was to our President in TEXAS and the wheels started turning to get Bunker released immediately. Normally strays are held for 3- 10 days before being released. Bunker was so obviously in desperate need - the T's were crossed the I's were dotted and he was released to us. A call went to a former NCBR foster Mom (she can no longer do it because of her last very aggressive deaf white foster boy) - she left work, pulled Bunker from the shelter and drove him 50+ miles to our vet in the area.
That wonderful vet didn't think he could make it through surgery, but our (officer) Treasurer in the area insisted she give it a try..........
The rest is history, Bunker made it through a very difficult and invasive surgery and was in intensive care there for 3 days.
I got to put the frosting on the cake - doing what I love to do........feed, snuggle, make him feel loved. What I did was EASY - I was here with nothing better to do and it was my pleasure.
