I don't like puppies being neutered and the bigger the dog the later they should be neutered. I do understand why rescues neuter early, but they have a good reason to.

Dealing with an older dog is the same as dealing with any dog that has had surgery, keep the quiet if you can, but very few do:) and watch the wound in case any stitches come out or it gets infected.

Joe was nearly a year old when I had him neutered.
