Advise Friend A to reread her stories with a critical eye. If she has any skill/has grown in any way as a writer since she originally wrote them, she should be able to at least clean them up.

Ask her if she's going to post that Mary Sue series, and if the answer is yes, decide what sort of level of "ownership" you really want. If you don't want it associated at all, tell her that you give up all your rights to it and that you'd like her to leave your name off it.

Friend B seems clueless enough that she might need an experience in being ripped apart for her to want to do better. Or she has no desire to ever do better, in which case, it might be hopeless already.
