Subject: I do not love thee, Xander-stu

Let me see... there's the 'psycho bitch Buffy' cliche. She beats the snot out of Xander when she finds out about 'the lie' in Becoming Part II. There are also the 'Willow supports Buffy instead of her oldest friend' cliche, the 'Giles protects Xander from the wrath of Buffy and only works with her because he has to' cliche (no slash, alas; it's F/X eventually) and the 'Xander is a serious hardass who likes to play with guns -lots of guns- and gets all the chicks who aren't psycho bitches and the respect of every bad guy in North America' cliche. The dialogue is hammy with a side of cheese, and the author wasn't as careful about spelling and punctuation as he (pretty obviously) could have been, either. eg:

"Xander span round his hand going into the Glock's hiding place as she barrelled up to him."

and

"Buffy was held speechless at the end of Xander's powerful handgun her eyes blank as was he expression."

But since the worst thing about this story is the utterly hackneyed way it warps cannon and characterization; I will forgive anyone who ignores it. I know I've seen one two many of these things.
