The Guhl wiring harness and Quick Click System is AWESOME! We put the new motor in and hooked everything up in record time! What a time saver!

Took both the Hyper and RTS out to Don Guhl this past Friday to fine tune the power commanders via Dyno Tuning. What an awesome experience. We learned a lot and were able to gain Collin 5hp! (Collin had a commander on that was set for his make/year of motor, but not specifically tuned for his exact motor/car, so we needed to make some adjustments). We gained this 5 hp through tuning only, no additional parts, hot rod CDI box, etc., just simply tuning the Commander to the motor!

The injected motor cost us only $1400.00, plus the injection from Guhl Motors and various pumps, fittings, etc., all of which could be reused on another motor should something happen to our $1400.00 motor. This process seemed expensive at first glance, but in the long run - - will save us money, be dependable and reliable!

On to the Dyno and Tuning: Of course Don was awesome to work with, took the time to explain everything to us each step of the way: What numbers we were changing and why, how it would help the cars performance and where it would help the cars performance (coming off the corner, etc.). We used a dyno that actually took measurements at the wheels vs. at the crank, like you would get from a bench dyno. (Not saying that one is necessarily better than the other, just that if you are going to compare hp from one engine to another they need to be measured on the same type of dyno.) We learned about the relationship between torque and hp. Overall the tuning session took very little time, the time was only extended by our questions and Don's wanting to make sure we understood everything. That being said we are trying to find a similiar dyno close to home that we could rent time on. We have everything else we need to do this tuning right here (with Don Guhl's help of course).

So, that's the update on our experience with the whole injection/power commander/tuning thing. If anyone has questions or would like more information, call us at 260-868-0123 or email to erwinmotorsports@yahoo.com

P.S. Incidentally we had the opportunity to review dyno sheets from a Carbureated motor..........it was interesting to say the least. Very inconsistent from 8,000 - 16,000 rpm's, hp up and down all over the place as was torque.
