  Are you all aware that the owner of Camden raceway has let it be known that Bob Bourff not run at his track next year
  because no one can beat him? He wants the little guy to get a chance. He sure isn't saying much for the guys who race there. He claims that Bob is the reason no one showed up at his track 2 weeks ago. Come on people. What kind of an insult is that to the other drivers at these tracks. You guys come to race and win just like Bourff and Bob has been beaten on many occassions. I have those losses on tape. Oh by the way, Camden will not be racing on Friday nights next year according to the owner. He's going to run on Sat. nights. This I heard myself.
  
  Not trying to start anything, just wanted to let you know how highly regarded you are at Camden and how you obviously have to have a running start to win. Not my opinion, just words from the owners mouth. All except "for a running start, that was just an insinuation (SP) made"

  First off I want to apologize to Rob for tonights incident. I know no one is perfect, and you can't see the whole track. I made some gestures to him that were uncalled for and very immature. Send of all, I want to apologize to the great fans of Miami County speedway for me parking the car on the front stretch. I was extremely upset, BUT should have not have left my car. I accept full responsibility for it. Third, I want to apologize to my fellow drivers, I acted like kid when i am an adult. The pressure is on me to try to win the Open class Championship. I really had to work hard to be up among the great calibur of drivers we have at Miami County. It is still up in the air if i will be able to come this next week. Hopefully I will be aloud to. We all get frustrated, mad, pissed off, and furious but that gives me no reason to act the way I did. I hope to see you all next week to finish the season strong. Once again, I apologize.

  There will be SIX envelopes. There will be THREE envelopes with $200 in each one, ONE envelope with $300, ONE envelope with $400, and ONE with $600. Total additional purse $1900.00. These envelopes will be numbered 1 thru 6. The WINNERS of the features will draw a number from 1-6 and be handed the envelope that matches that number.   Timothy Carter Jr.
  
  Timothy Carter Jr. is an 18 month old little boy who suffers from a very rare disease called Tay-Sachs. This disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes destruction of the central nervous system. This disease is caused by the absence of a vital enzyme called Hexosaminidase A (Hex A). A baby with Tay-Sachs disease appears normal at birth and seems to develop normally until about six months of age. The first signs of TSD can vary and are evident at different ages in affected children. Initially, development slows; there is a loss of peripheral vision, and the child exhibits an abnormal startle response. By about two years of age, most children experience recurrent seizures and diminishing mental function. The infant gradually regresses, losing skills one by one, and is eventually unable to crawl, turn over, sit, or reach out. Other symptoms include increasing loss of coordination, progressive inability to swallow, and breathing difficulties. Eventually, the child becomes blind, mentally retarded, paralyzed, and non-responsive to his or her environment.
  
  Is there any treatment?
  Presently there is no treatment for Tay-Sachs.
  
  What is the prognosis?
  Even with the best of care, children with Tay-Sachs disease usually die by age 5.
  
  On July 13th, Timothy became the fourteenth child diagnosed with Tay-Sachs this year.

  I have been an official at many races & championship races at that. We were at Peru for Tim's memorial & were completely appalled at the way things went. You not only hurt Tim's family (mother, sister, kids & most importantly his widow) very badly but you also disrespected Tim. I have never been to a Memorial race for anyone that wasn't even mentioned during the night. What a disgrace!!! I thought that a memorial was to remember a fellow racer.

  Jeff, concerning your comments about the driver of the 14 car-- Who are you??? Oviously you are not a driver, or you would have realized the situation. You would have probably been a little hot if someone drove into your car and broke your carbs and air box off. How would you feel if you was trying to get away from the situation and someone grabbed you from behind? I realize that I probably should have not responed to your comments. I would really like to talk to you at the track. If you aer in the pits, I am always around the 14 car. If you are in the stands, tell the lady in the pit sign-in that you want to see me.   >Racers of the NMMA I currently serve a chairman of region 2 which I thought was a position on the board of this organization. However the events of recent days I wonder. I want the membership to know I was excluded from all debate and information on this recent suspension of the claim rule. I was informed on Friday by President Mc Graff that the claim rule had been suspended this was the first time I was officially contacted about the issue. When I ask him why his response was “because I got 7 board member to call me” he refused is answer any questions regarding why the rule was a problem or how many motors had been claimed. I believe that all board members who have a vote should have had input on such an important issue and I official protest the way this was handled it was not fair to the membership in region 2 and their voice was not herd. As the ONLY active driver and car owner on the NMMA board I call upon other drivers to get involved so that the NMMA is run by drivers not a group of people who don’t even own cars and think they know what is best for us the drivers and membership.   I would just like to say that i was very dissapointed with the calls made or missed tonight. Morgan Hoover should have won the race, the 17 car turned down on him. I know he didn't go dead, but the 17 should have went to the tale as well as the 89. I seen it from the staging lanes and it was missed. Another thing that really bothered me is that drivers driving past the scales and then letting the cars come back to weigh. COME ON GUYS. It was on the Board to weigh, The kid was waving the clip board to weigh and people kept going by. No one is perfect, but i feel that the rules are not being enforced. I seen a number of wings that were way to big, way past the 4 inch rule, and nothering being done about it. The rough driving has really gone out of control. The stock class tonight was terrible. You're racing for $150 and a trophy at the end of year. Is that really worth tearing up good equipment? The same car took out atleast 2 cars in the stock feature.

I did not say that they could not post outlaw races on this board either. What I said was we were not promoting these races against the Nationals at SIR. If you feel the need to make these comments then please read the posts better. If you or any one else would like to post an outlaw race date on here feel free to do so, but remember that this does not mean that Miami Co. will support the race if it is in conflict with an NMMA championship race.

  I'm not trying to stir up trouble, but this seems to amaze me, Richard puts several posts on here about Outlaw tracks posting races on Miami Countys message board, but whats on the Home page, advertising an end of the year "OUTLAW" race at Miami County Speedway. If you don't want people posting outlaw races on your board because your an NMMA track, then what are you doing having and advertising an "OUTLAW" race.

  The Line-up system when we don't qualify is not a very good way to do it. You got guys who are calculating where to finish to get a good starting position in the feature. So here's a new thing to try. Take the 18 drivers who transfer and let them draw a pill for there starting position in the main. On a dry slick track the pole guy will win almost everytime and by the time someone comes from the back, the race will be over. Let's change it up a bit and make it more even for everyone. It's not right when some cars drop back to get a good spot in the main.

• Not going to Nationals then race at 35 Raceway -- Robbie Starkey, 09:27:11 08/01/04 Sun
  If you are not going to the NMMA Nationals and what to race!!! 35 Raceway in Chillicothe Ohio is racing. Some of us from Indiana raced there a few weeks ago. Kyle Rhodes was passing for second and spun. This track is a very nice high banked 1/5 mile. The night we ran they had over 1000 people in the stands and 125 cars. They run mostly upright 600s but they do run a NMMA rules stock 600 sidewinder class. If you go over and race you will love the track. Everything about the track is nice except you don't get much practice only one hot lap session. You can go to www.35raceway.com for more information.   After spending my personal time money and doing every thing possiable to help Jackson speedway's dirt program become a sucess. They come to My track message board to promote a race against ME. The problems with Jackson and the NMMA were mostly Jacksons fault and the people their not being able to read a rule book. The other problem was that racers would not support the track so they could not get a car count to have a race.I left a family outing to go to Jackson to help them put on a doubble show so they could get their required races in. The 2nd show would not have took place if it was not for me. Thank Jackson for showing your true colors. I try to never tell some one where to race but I think most of Our guys know how I feel. Remember a 100% pay back in not always 100%

• Why are rules changing every other week? -- KC Hughes, 20:08:25 08/02/04 Mon
  I am not trying to make anyone upset... but, I would like to know why at the begining of the season the rule was, if you are invovled in a wreck or stopped dead on the track then you went to the back of the field. At the last driver's meeting the ref said that if it lookes like to him you were trying to avoid a wreck you were going to get your spot back and not have to go to the end of the pack. The new ruling came in to play when the 4 car and the 33 car got tangled up. The ref's call on the 4 car and the 33 car was to put the 4 car on the tail and the 33 car was given his spot back. When obviolsy both cars made contact and spun out. I don't understand why the call was made when my father asked the ref he replied "Well, I didn't see it..." So why was the call made anyway? Both should have went to the tail or got their spots back. Next time this occurs what rule are we, the drivers, expected to know what to follow? What is given before the race at the drivers meeting or the rule that it has been the whole season long? What are we to expect each weekend with new rules each time we race? I do apologize if I have offended anyone but please clarify.

Once again you guys proved that Peru has some of the best racers around and we really enjoyed having you for the evening. We know it's a long trip for ya all and we really appreciate you making it to race with us Michigan folks. I have to say that I met a lot of really nice people last night, had some great conversations and saw some of the best racing I've seen in a long long time!!!   As you all can see there are some posts that have been cleared from the board. It was time for me to do a cleaning job any way. Jeff I hope you got the answer to your post on the claim rule. Good healthy discussions are very welcome on this board altho there is a limit to which it will be allowed to continue. Do everyone a favor and keep it clean.

  For those of you who didn't here what happened at the Easterns, a fellow driver was in a firey wreck on Saturday night. Car was on it's side while another car was on top of him. The bottom car caught fire due to the top car leaking fuel through a busted tank. The Driver is Chris Mabe. He sustained 2nd and 3rd degreee burns on his hands, and feet. He will be undergoing skin graphing today. At the next race at Peru, I will be going around with a few other drivers asking for donations to send to him. I will be also going around at this week's Camden races. His address is on the NMMA webpage so if you would like to send something yourself, go ahead. I'm sure his family will appreciate it. • July 11th & 18th NMMA races @ Stateline Speedway Edon, Ohio -- Scott Longanbach, 17:47:13 07/01/04 Thu
  Stateline Speedway Edon, Ohio will host two NMMA points races back-to-back on Sunday July 11, 2004 and again on Sunday July 18, 2004. We are scheduling these double shows in an effort to make up some of the rained out events from previous weekends.
  Gates will open at 1:00pm with hot laps at 3:00pm OHIO time on these 2 Sundays only.
  Pit passes are $15.00 (good for the entire day)
  Race Entry is $20.00 for Race #1 which we will have a pay-out after this race.
  THEN those that wish to stay for Race #2 will pay a $20.00 race entry and we will have a seperate pay-out for this race afterwards as well. We will not have a practice session after Race #1 (however, those racers that arrive to only enter for Race #2 will be allowed to practice during the short intermission of paying out Race #1 and registering cars for Race #2). We ran a couple of double shows in 2003 and they ran smoothly with using this format. If anyone has any further questions, please feel free to email me at: racestateline@aol.com

  I would like to thank Dwayne and everyone else that works....helps....etc... at Peru. I thought the track was very racy in the open feature, even after all the other racing on it. I heard some of the people complaining cause it was a lil rough, but I didn't mind. The only complaint that I would have( you know I had to have one... lol) is that you need some more lighting in turns 1 & 3. I'm sure I'll hear some flack about that but in all actuality, I think the racing would be even better and much safer. Not to mention the fans could see the cars better! You guys are doing a great job, as seen by the car count. How about making a mini- series with Camden and giving the points winner after say..... 4 races, a $ 500 bonus??? That would be fun! The condition of the track was not at it's best to say the least and for that we apologise but mother nature has not been kind to us up north and the staff did the best they could with what they had to work with.
