David,
You bring up some interesting observations we as racers don't usually consider. The Restrictor Class race you are referring to last night is a combination of very young drivers with limited experience, and older drivers with limited experience. When you factor into that equation a little more experience with any of these drivers, two things will happen. First, the more experienced drivers will get faster and second, they have to work their way through the slower traffic. Aggression most often comes on the race track as a result of the frustration level that comes with lapped traffic and the shear adrenalin that driving a race car produces. (case & point: Tony Stewart). When this happens, the Sanctioning Body (MiCRO) needs to step in and enforce the written rules regarding aggressive driving. (ie: the NASCAR oval office) They did the right thing last night. We all hope Cody is all right.
