.:. Another day slipped away. And still, no meaning had been found in life. His day to day routine was practically the same and he rarely say anyone or exchanged words with anyone. His job, that had once been fun and fool of trickery was not a desk job behind which he made paper airplanes in attempts to fly away his utter boredom. But it didn’t help. So every night he drove his half decent car home and parked it behind the warehouse, by the tittering dock that swayed unsafely in battering storms. He’d get out and go up the back fire exit, enter the hall from the end, past the flickering bulbs to his door which was locked. But today, it wasn’t. Had he forgotten to lock it? It was always a possibility; he’d left his jacket behind today. The steel was unusually chilled today in the frigid evening air. Pushing the door open he let his briefcase fall to first barstool before edging around it into the opened kitchen. The frig was the first place he hit, eyeing the same selection. Perhaps another ham sandwich would cure his appetite again. Grabbing the remote as he set down the ingredient of supper on the butcher block, he was rewarded with the same channel he’d left it on. Old movies, black and white, filled the screen in a familiar classic. Some lettuce, ham, smashed bread, and a coke later he was seated upon the couch. Okay, for another lonely night alone…or would it be vaguely intertaining? .:.
