Subject: Tucking Corum in
In reply to: Laurel 's message, "Double standards?" on 16:02:17 11/12/01 Mon

Tia was happy that Corum wanted her to stay in his room with him. She really felt that he needed someone to watch over him tonight because of the head injury he sustained. After giving him a smile, she turned her attention to Laurel, who was speaking. When she got the gist of what the druid was saying, a look of sadness enveloped Tia's face. It certainly sounded like Laurel had a huge dislike of thieves.

Oh, oh, that must mean that she despises ME! That disturbed Tia immensely because she really liked Rowan and hoped to become closer friends with him. But now that she was aware that such a friendship might upset Laurel, she decided it would be best to keep her distance from the white-haired elf. She'd hate herself if she were the cause of conflict arising between a brother and sister who seemed as close as Rowan and Laurel were.

Knowing that she had to stay away from Rowan now depressed her, because she had grown to like the elf a lot. Maybe I've come to like him too much, in fact. She thought back to the wonderful kiss they shared in Jeremy's room and sighed deeply. Never again would their lips get the chance to meet. And I'll never be able to run my fingers through his long, silky hair, like I've been dying to do since the day I met him!

"Come on Corum," she said softly. "Let's go up to your room so you can get some rest."

Tia waited for Corum to grab his staff, and only after Brat and Eyes were perched upon his shoulders did they leave the dining hall. Once they were in the room, she helped him remove his boots, then ordered him to get into bed. After tucking the covers in around him and Yorik, she leaned down to kiss his cheek. "Sleep well, Corum. If you awaken and want something just call. I'm a pretty light sleeper so I'll get up and get it for you."

Tia slipped off her shoes, and placed most of her weapons on the small table beside the other bed in the room. From habit she slipped one dagger under her pillow in case of an emergency then crawled under the covers. As soon as she closed her eyes she began thinking of Rowan and had to force her thoughts to something else, otherwise she knew she'd never fall asleep. I wish I'd never met him because then I wouldn't be feeling so hurt about having to stay away from him right now!
