Author: Tia and a few friends?
Subject: An intriguing sight!

Because Abakri, the head shaman of the Jangali Royani, shared a magical link with Necrista, she felt the woman's death. Obviously, the diplomat's plan to win King Samuel over by addicting him to Dreambliss had failed. It was now time for more drastic measures if the snake people wanted to get their land back from the retched Necromancers!

Abakri summoned the leaders of the warrior clans to her tent. They, like Necrista, possessed the most human traits of their mixed heritage. Slightly slanted eyes and forked tongues were the only things that marked them as Jangali Royani.

After a brief counsel with her fellow shamans, they chose the best fighters for the mission they hand in mind. It was quickly explained to them that they would infiltrate the Necromancer's Palace and poison the dinner meal with sleeping powder. "Once the King, Queen, and any humans on the premises fall into a stupor you are to slice their throats! They must all be murdered if we are to regain the land that is rightfully ours!"

Abakri handed the flask with the power to Mordan, the brother of Necrista then commanded the warriors to put on the hooded, long gray cloaks that were passed out to them. "Keep your weapons hidden beneath the cloaks until the time is right," Abakri explained, "because the illusion we are about to cast works only to change your features and has no effect on the items you carry. Remember, you must do your best to kill all who reside in that Palace or all hope is lost for our people."

With that said, Abakri and her fellow shamans called upon the power, casting a spell upon the men that made them look exactly like zombies. "The illusion will fade by morning, so you must complete your mission tonight! If you are unable to taint the food then kill them in their beds once they retire! All of you will be able to roam freely around the Palace and grounds because no one will give you a second glance."

The head shaman then sent them off to nearby Siwas city where they would begin mingling with the real zombies that were excavating the ruins.

Tia was sitting on her bed, lost in thought when Rowan entered the room. Her violet eyes took in the worry lines that creased his face while he rushed out an apology for the kiss they shared earlier. Although she would have preferred another kiss instead of such an apology, she kept that desire to herself. It's silly of me to be thinking such crazy thoughts anyway!

Rowan was nothing but a business partner, and Tia believed that business shouldn't be mixed with pleasure. Besides, if Rowan started having lustful desires about her, it would only be because of her nymphish magic. She truly believed that she was too unattractive for the likes of a handsome man like Rowan. The silly magic would lead him into thinking that he was with someone of profound beauty and Tia couldn't bear to have him desire her under such false pretences!

"I'm not mad at you Rowan," she said, jumping up from the bed and giving his nose a playful tweak. "I rushed out of the room only because I needed to use the privy."

Tia filled a small glass with wine and drank it down before gracing the elf with a mischievous smile. "Now, if you're done with your love versus lust lessons for the day, how about going off to explore with me?"

Without waiting for a reply, Tia latched onto his arm, dragging him from the room, down the stairs and out the front door. Although the sun was beginning to set there was still plenty of its light to see by. Tia led them to a recently excavated building that might have been an old library of sorts since hundreds of books had been unearthed and were being gathered up by several zombies in the area. The undead paid them no mind, going about their work rather stiffly.

Tia snatched up one of the books, and shook off a layer of sand before flipping through the pages. "Looks like mumbo-jumbo to me," she said, looking up at Rowan. "That's probably because I can't read this language." The petite thief smiled, but a moment later a frown came over face when she saw a zombie in the distance pull a flask out from beneath his cloak. The ugly monstrosity took a deep drink then quickly tucked the flask away before moving to helping the other zombies carry books toward the Palace.

Tia closed the book she held and took a step closer to Rowan. "Undead don't need food or water," she whispered. "Yet, I just saw one of the zombies drinking from a flask. Explain that to me, Rowan."
