Thanks to the relaxing smoke from the cigarette he was sharing with Marz, Tristan didn’t feel quite so tense about letting him kiss someone else. It still made him very unhappy to think of Marz doing that with another person, but if it was all just part of the game, and everybody else seemed to think it was fine, then he guessed he was okay with it. He squeezed his lover’s hand lightly before taking another drag from the cigarette and handing it to him. Marz really didn’t need that in addition to the wine he was drinking, but Tristan didn’t care. He was so much more touchy-feely when his senses went out the window like that. And yeah, sure, having Marz all over him was pretty embarrassing, but it was also kind of exciting, too, especially when other people were watching.

He tore his gaze away from Marz to stare curiously at Jeremy for a moment. The otherworldly youth had thrown an arm around Rowan and was sitting very close to him. Not like two friends would do either. Not like Marz throwing an arm around Corum. More like Marz throwing an arm around Tristan. Ew! Tristan thought, his mind suddenly filled with imaginative visions of the elf and the ugly youth getting it on in bed. Okay, he could admit that Rowan was rather attractive for an older man, but Jeremy was just…just… Well, all right. There was really no other way to describe it. It was just disgusting.

When Tia called out for Marz to hurry up and kiss someone (well, he knew that’s what she meant), he shot her a mock angry look, raising an eyebrow at her for trying to spur Marz on. He was in no hurry to see his lover make out with another person. And he knew that’s what he’d do, too. Marz would make a big show out of it, putting as much energy and passion into that kiss as he could possibly muster. Tristan just knew he would, because that was exactly the sort of adorable little idiot he was. Anything to bring all eyes focusing toward himself.

Tristan accepted his cigarette back from him, watching with a bemused, slightly glazed expression as he casually removed his shirt. Tristan’s eyes wandered openly over the tight muscles beneath the bronzed skin of his lover’s body, a wonderfully intense, possessive feeling coming over him. One day, he thought with a small private smile, he was going to surprise the hell out of Marz and switch roles a bit, taking charge of him for once like the animal he really was inside. He could imagine Marz flashing him that cocky grin and saying, Sure, I'll believe it when I see it, Tris. The thought made him laugh out loud, though he didn’t really know why.

Even though he was feeling a lot more relaxed, he did tense slightly when Marz stood up and began to walk slowly towards Rowan. Although he didn’t at the moment suspect anything whatsoever, he could somehow sense that something was going on between them. Jeremy broke his concentration when he leaned in and planted a kiss on the elf’s lips, making Tristan shudder slightly in revulsion. Marz seemed to have the same opinion of the matter, subtly shifting his direction until he stood right before Tia.

To put it simply, Tristan was not prepared for how his body would react to seeing his lover kiss his pretty friend. He watched as she went limp in his embrace, her hands curling behind his back to run against the smooth skin Tristan’s own hands knew so well. Just looking at them sent a tiny electric thrill down his spine, making his heart beat faster and his breathing deepen. His body heat started to rise automatically, and if he weren’t so incredibly modest, he would have removed his own shirt just so he could try to catch his breath again.

When they broke apart, Marz turned away from her, announcing that he was going for a swim before stumbling past. Tristan exchanged a glance with him, the desire building up slowly within him magnified tenfold as their eyes briefly met. All he could think about was Marz’s whispered promise about the hot spring, but before he could hurry after him, Tia was kneeling before him, clutching his shoulders worriedly and speaking fairly quickly.

“I’m your friend, Tristan,” she was saying, her violet eyes clearly worried, “I’d never think about trying to steal Marz away from you. Please don’t say you hate me because of my obvious reaction to that kiss.”

Gently, he removed both her hands from his shoulders, still clutching her fingers in his own as he blinked up at her. "S’okay, Tia,” he said, a rather silly smile coming to his face, “Was only a kiss.” He leaned forward and kissed her cheek, laughing softly as he did so. “I’m not jealous,” he whispered rather secretively into her ear.

That said, he released her hands and stood up, turning and heading in the direction Marz had disappeared in. When he came upon his weapons and clothes lying on the cavern floor at the water’s edge near a rock outcropping, he smiled and followed suit, stripping down to his underclothes while lying his sword carefully beside Marz’s. He slipped into the warm, soothing water, then, wading out behind the rock until he found him.

He was leaning against one of the rocks with his eyes closed, but they flew open as soon as Tristan saw him. They regarded one another for a few seconds before Tristan moved toward him, not even saying a word as he wrapped his arms around him, his hands running against the warm skin of his back underwater just as Tia’s had. He felt Marz’s hands slip around his waist and pull him closer, then their lips met in a deep, intensely erotic kiss, as if they had never kissed one another before.

“I think I’m all better now,” Tristan managed, breathing heavily as he finally pulled back for a moment. Marz laughed and pulled them together again, the warm water caressing both their bodies as they luxuriated in one another’s presence.

Rowan was caught momentarily off guard when Jeremy leaned in suddenly and planted a kiss on his mouth. He kissed him back without really thinking, his eyes sliding closed, but a moment later, he was pushing the boy back and giving him an annoyed look. It was too late, though. Marz had already turned, and was currently wrapping his arms around Tia.

“Thanks a lot, boy wonder,” he muttered, earning him a scowl from Jeremy. Once Marz and Tia finished their kiss, the handsome youth left for the lake, while Tia rushed forward to have a quick word with Tristan. Rowan frowned as Jeremy turned to chastise him yet again about flirting with Marz; the kid was really starting to get on his nerves lately!

“One more word about Marz,” he said quietly, moving to place his finger over Jeremy’s mouth, “And you can kiss me good-bye, too. I mean it,” he continued, when the boy’s eyes widened slightly. “You can find someone else to warm your bed and cool those raging hormones of yours.” Slowly, he pulled his finger away, the serious expression still on his face. “Do I make myself clear on that?”

At Jeremy’s nod, he felt satisfied that the kid would stop bugging him, at least for a little while. Hell, no one else would be willing to toss him in bed for a good time, so who exactly was the one treading on thin ground here, anyway?

After a moment, Tristan left to follow Marz, leaving Tia to stare after him. Rowan couldn’t help snickering at the thought of what the two of them were doing, but he quickly turned his attention back to Tia.

“Tia,” he said, gaining her attention. He smiled an almost dangerous smile. “Your turn, baby. Truth or dare?”

She thought for a while before answering, “Truth.”

Damn. Well, he could still make something of it. “All right,” he replied with a lazy shrug. “Answer me truthfully. What would you say to me if I were to ask you right now to share my bed with me tonight?”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he was aware of how rudely straightforward they were, but at this point, he didn’t care. He took a sip from his glass of wine, realizing that it was his third or fourth, but didn’t so much care about that either. This Nerombian liquor sure had a strong punch to it, and he hoped he didn’t have one hell of a headache come morning.
