Author: Erlic, Corum & Valhorek
Subject: Another morning

After conversing with Argus for a little bit, Erlic decided it was time to get some sleep. “Most likely I’ll see you in the morning,” the guild master stated as he got out of the water, grabbing a towel to dry himself. “It should be fairly safe here this night. Until the morning.”

With that Erlic casually walked over to one of the houses, and knocked. He hadn’t been paying attention to see who might be in where. When there was no response, he entered, and closed the door behind him. Looking around he spotted a lantern, and fireplace. He placed logs in the fireplace, and soon had it burning. He then took the lantern, and placed it in the center of the table, deciding to sit down, and transcribe into his journal.

Eventually the guild master decided it was time for some rest. He lay on the mattress in the familiar lotus position, and drifted into a world of semi-sleep, and semi-awake. While his body received the rest it needed, his other sense remained awake, sensing for any disturbances that might occur. It was a peculiar method of sleeping, but it had saved his life many times.

“Well the game sure didn’t turn out like it was supposed to,” Corum stated to Barry. Everyone had gathered, and no one had bothered to see who won. “People are getting awfully weird lately,” he stated to the floating skull. Since he was covered in ink, and no one was going to check for scores, he jumped into the hot springs, clothes and all, and decided to wash the ink away. Although it took a bit of effort, the ink was soon gone from his skin, as well as the clothes.

He proceeded toward the house where he had discovered the items, bidding Valhorek a pleasant evening as he watched the healer enter one of the other abandoned houses. A funny thought suddenly came to him. He turned to Barry. “Hey, do you ever sleep, or don’t you have to?” Corum asked. “I know it sounds stupid, but like do you really sleep?”

Corum listened to the skull, as he stripped off his clothes, and placed them on various chairs so that they would dry by morning. He started the fire in the fireplace, and when satisfied, finally made his way to bed. “See ya in the morning Barry,” the youth commented as he drifted off to sleep.

The smell of bacon frying in a pan brought Erlic to a quick awakening. Although a very light sleeper, if he even slept, the slight traces of bacon odor quickly brought him back to his senses. He freshened up, deciding it was time to see what was happening. He walked out, and noticed the Jann frying up breakfast. They already had a pot of java on the boil, and had the bacon just about done.

He greeted the men, and took a seat, as one of them handed him a plate of bacon, and potatoes. He wondered just how long it would take to find the branch of midnight hue. It was the only artifact they were still in search of, and up till now, had found no clues to follow as to where it might be.

He kept thinking of the news Dalo had related to him, and how Kisa could possibly be involved. She never struck him as being on the bad side, but people were known to change without reason. And if Kisa had been working for Tegol, feeding drugs to Eremis, why had she even bothered to lead him out of the estate? Perhaps the female healer had other motives in mind, or possibly had a customer who could use the information Eremis had given her. But for what reason? He hoped that Dalo could piece together that portion of the puzzle. Kisa had helped several times in healing as well as adventuring, and he didn’t relish the thought of possibly having to do something to her should the need arise. Hopefully it wouldn’t come to that.

He sat back, and enjoyed his meal, and java, wondering if, and when, Jade might return. Although he had only known her for a brief moment, it seemed he had known her for quite awhile.
