Subject: People are strange
In reply to: Argus 's message, "Come back here with my boots!" on 18:36:21 04/05/02 Fri

“People are people,” Erlic exclaimed. “The only difference is the way that they’re exposed to life in general.”

This had been a response to Argus’ question once he had returned trying to gather his boots from one Tristan, who seemed quite intent on gathering all the items needed for the treasure hunt game. At least the dragon and Marz were still getting along well, although Erlic sometimes could sense a bit of tenseness between the two, actually could see from their mannerisms if something was wrong. But he was not about to interfere in the involvement, since the problem had to be worked out between the two of them. He was merely there as a form of guiding light should the need arise, especially with the chakras, which Erlic was quite surprised to find that Marz had somehow managed to close the first one.

At first he really wasn’t sure what was happening, but the feeling he experienced through the link to Marz was one of encasement, which only led him to believe that the youth, with the help of Tristan, was trying his best to overcome that claustrophobic feeling that came when trying to either open, or in Marz’s case close, the chakra. However, Marz had succeeded, and judging from the youth’s tiredness, it had taken a lot of energy from the youth. That, or the combination of drinks, cigarettes, and pure exertion helped.

He turned his attention back to Argus. “I’m very sorry to hear about your family. Perhaps someday you’ll be able to get your revenge. As far as the people here in this world are concerned, they’re about the same. Yes, some like to display their feelings, and emotions regardless of which gender they are with. However, not everyone agrees with this type of matchmaking, but it is prevalent in society, although usually kept behind locked doors. Because we travel a lot, sometimes it’s best to simply relax, and let everything go. Everyone here is enjoying themselves, and that’s really all that matters. Soon we’ll probably have to head out, and there might not be any time for involvement.”

"It's going to be blewdy impossible to get used to... or near!" Argus said in exasperation.

“Well,” Erlic stated. “I think you have to give yourself some time, and simply accept what happens. If you don’t, you’ll simply drive yourself crazy.”

Erlic was just about to leave the hot springs when he heard the faint hum of the communication mirror with Dalo. He quickly retrieved it, and opened up the line of communication with the beast master. He listened intently to the newest information, glad that no one was seriously hurt, a bit disheartened that Eremis hadn’t been found, and very, very surprised, if not shocked to hear about Kisa’s involvement, or what appeared to be connection with Tegol. Erlic simply informed Dalo to be wary of the prisoners. Since Erlic didn’t know any of them by name, or past reputation, he really couldn’t guide Dalo in his decision, but to simply be careful. The guild master praised Dalo for doing such a good job considering the adverse conditions he, and his friends, had been under. “Just keep yourself safe, Dalo,” Erlic stated, “and let me know if you find out anything more regarding Kisa.” Erlic bid farewell to the beast master before closing the communication.

Now there was an interesting scenario if had ever heard one. What was Kisa doing working for Tegol? That question alone made him wonder at the implications. The red headed healer had accompanied him, and some friends on many adventures, and he didn’t see her as the type to turn traitor. Yet she had given Eremis drugs in order for him to spill his guts, revealing the secret traits of the tavern, which nearly led to its demise.

Erlic spotted Marz approaching the springs, and briefly called him over. He told the youth about Eremis, and about Kisa’s involvement, letting his student decide for himself what he thought of the situation. He let the youth go about his business as he returned back to his seat across from Argus.

“One sometimes has to wonder,” Erlic commented to Argus. “I’ve just been notified that a friend seemed to have turned traitor for some reason, and the implications are quite unsettling.” Erlic gave Argus a brief synopsis of the people back in Bizmar, and Kisa’s intervention with them.
