Ravin was still panting a little when he pulled the blanket over them. Smiling, he stared at the lovely face of his sleeping companion, whose head rested on his shoulder. You're damn lucky, Rue, he told himself as his fingertips played along Isobel's chin and neck.

After losing Kyri, he never thought he would feel anything for another woman. Yet, here he was, experiencing a bevy of different emotions. Isobel invoked profound lust within him, but it went deeper than that. He found himself caring about her, perhaps a little too much, and that worried him in a way. Could he ever come to love her as much as he had loved Kyri? Did he even want to lose his heart again and take the risk of being hurt in the end because he wasn't any good at making a relationship a success?

He pulled Isobel closer, liking the way their bodied melded so perfectly together. She had managed to awaken something inside him that had died when Kyri left. He kissed her cheek then closed his eyes, deciding it was best not to dissect his relationship with Isobel. Just enjoy what you have together now and don’t expect anything more. With that thought in mind, he fell into a slight sleep, his dreams filled with Isobel now instead of his ex-wife.
