After sleeping for a while, Isobel finally stirred, nestling closer to Ravin as her eyes drifted slowly open. She lifted her head and looked at his sleeping face. She had to smile. He was quite handsome and a very considerate lover. She briefly let herself wonder where this was going, but then dismissed the thought. She did not want to think too much on that. Not right now anyway.

She thought about the things she admired about Ravin: his compassion, his strength, his leadership, his sense of right and wrong. He was a good man. She realized that, somehow, she felt happier than she had in years.

She kissed the corner of Ravin's mouth softly and lay her head back down enjoying the feeling. Soon, she knew, Ravin would awaken and they would resume their quest.

Her thoughts turned to the day ahead and she wondered if they would find the branches today. And the throne. And how many battles would they fight this day? She grinned. There was never a dull moment in Neromba.
