When the spider-men came bursting in from the tunnel, Ravin dropped his mug of java and whipped out two throwing knives. He jumped to his feet and released the blades, grinning when they implanted themselves into the skull of one of the creatures. Why didn't I think to put a guard on that altar entrance? he wondered, while procuring another pair of knives. A moment later, his deadly aim killed two more of the creatures.

As the rest of the spider-men drew closer he withdrew his sword, joining his friends in hand-to-hand combat. He fought alongside the Jann, who were much better at swordplay than he was. Thanks to his swift movements, Ravin managed to avoid any grave injuries as he battled one of the creatures. By the time he ended the spider-man's life he was panting heavily. A deep gash on his left forearm coated his shirtsleeve with blood but there wasn't any time to think about that right now.

The thief helped the Jann lieutenant, Ardesmar finish off another foe then they hurried forward to help rid the cavern of more of the monstrous creatures. He caught sight of Isobel helping Barry as he swung his sword, and was relieved to see that she didn't appear to be injured.
