Corum couldn’t believe Tristan. Didn’t he try to explain to the dragon what it was that Marz was really after? He thought he did, but then he had to realize that not too many people took him for granted. He was well aware of Marz’s anger, and had tried to explain it to Tristan that waiting was the best, and under the current circumstance, the only option.

Eventually Marz did in fact return, however in a state that even Corum seemed surprised to witness. Marz was pretty battered up, but somehow he knew that whomever, if anyone, had encountered his friend, he was sure that they had met up with a faith much worse than Marz had suffered.

He listened to Tristan, and quickly ran for the stairs in search of Valhorek. Eventually, when Marz came down from his rage, the wounds he had suffered would really start to hurt, and although his friend didn’t really appreciate being tended to, Corum would see differently this time.

He ran into the kitchen, and spotted a very forlorn Ravin, who seemed like he had lost his best friend. He wasn’t sure why the thief was so downcast, but decided that he might find the answer later. He quickly asked Valhorek to follow him. The healer immediately went with Corum who had managed to spot Tristan and Marz heading into one of the rooms. Corum thought it best for a moment, only because he believed that the two might need a bit of privacy, and suggested the same to Val who simply nodded. Corum then decided to return to the kitchen, where he took a place opposite Ravin, and Saras.

“Not to worry Barry,” Corum stated to the skull that just happened to float in. “I think for now, we just gotta keep cool, and hope the hell everything works out for the better. Not to worry thought, I think, in the final end things will get better, somehow.” Corum wasn’t sure about that last statement, but he certainly hoped so.

Lead me from tortured dreams childhood themes of night’s alone. Wipe away endless years, childhood tears, as dry as stone. From seeds of confusion illusions dark blossoms have grown. Even now in furrows of sorrow the doubt still is sown. My life’s course is guided decided by limits strewn. From charts of my past ways, and pathways, since I was born.

Valhorek had waited a few moments, and approached the door. He knocked twice, giving the inhabitants time to gather themselves, before walking in. His eyes widened when he saw the condition that Marz was in, and wondered just what had occurred. Rather than say anything, he felt it prudent to simply go about his task.

He didn’t need his psychic powers to analyze the injuries Marz had sustained. Most of them were superficial, nothing that some salve, bandages, and rest couldn’t heal. Despite the youth’s efforts to let him know he was fine, Valhorek continued with his administrations. The only major wound was a deep gash, which although needed sutures, Valhorek could see already that they had started to close on their own. He cleaned up all the wounds, and applied the salve needed to kill off any infection that might set in.

When he was finished, he gave a packet of herbs to Tristan. “See that he drinks this,” Valhorek instructed. “He’ll need to gather his strength once again. He’d be better off if he could rest for several hours, but I don’t know how long we’re going to remain here in the tower. If you need me I’ll be in the kitchen.”

With that Valhorek returned to the kitchen, and wondered about the recent events. He had overheard that the Rovers had been contacted, and that they had left the area. He had been pleased by this announcement since Blossom, someone whom he felt very close to, lived with the Rovers, and he had a great attraction to the dark haired beauty.

And what of the tavern? How had they faired? He knew they were in good hands with Foran, and he hoped the healer had managed to save as many lives as possible. He wished more information would come to them, now that everyone knew about the attack.
