Subject: What is truth?

Jade had thought Erlic had left, so she was startled when a hand reached in the doorway and tapped her on the shoulder. Her dagger was instantly in her hand and she whirled to see what was assaulting her now, but since it was only Erlic she didn't stick the dagger in his nose after all. Instead, when he motioned her to follow him she sheathed her dagger and did.

He started to speak then seemed to lose his train of thought for a moment as he looked at her. A half-smile lifted one corner of her mouth as she leaned against the wall to listen to what he had to say, once he'd recovered his senses. And when he did what he had to say seemed very important, indeed. Finally he finished with, “You can travel with us as much as you please, and leave when you wish as I said, there is more than one danger threatening us at the moment.”

"You people attract trouble like dung attracts flies, don't you?" she chuckled. "Darling, I think for the moment I'm safer in a group than I would be on my lonesome in these big, bad ruins, so I'll stick around for now." She reached out and ran a finger along Erlic's jawline, feeling the whiskers of his beard rustle under her fingertip. She looked into his eyes, seeing a deep cold, calculating thing lurking there... but something more beyond that she knew he kept carefully hidden.

"I don't know anyone at the tavern place that got hit, so I can't really share everyone's upset over it. Of course it's dreadful. Obviously that Denair fellow is a sadistic madman. But, why are you and everyone else so concerned about the others' chances against this Tegol's men when every day they seem to be in mortal danger from these assassins and the Sharm here and whatever else is hanging around these ruins anyway? What's the difference?" She let her finger drop to his chest and linger there a moment before she withdrew it.

"You look like you have something you want to ask me," she said with amusement as she noted a fleeting questioning look wander over his face.
