At first, Rowan thought it was cute how Saras immediately practically jumped into Jeremy’s lap, wrapping his arms around the boy’s neck. After a few minutes passed, though, he felt an unfamiliar feeling come over him, souring the looks he kept tossing the pair. Yeah, all right, so it was nice to see the kid getting close to someone besides that unattainable crush of his, but…

But what? Nothing he thought, rubbing the back of his neck irritably with one hand. So he showed Jeremy a good time beneath the sheets (actually, they didn’t even quite make it beneath the sheets, but oh well). He didn’t suddenly own the kid. Okay, so it would have been nice if his little friend were suddenly hanging all over him now instead of comforting that gorgeous genie over there, but hell, he wasn’t going to let that ruin his day.

Not in the slightest. A grin came quickly to his face again when he heard Tia voice her decision to stay with the group when they all returned to Kazzie’s place. He felt doubly rejuvenated when Jeremy agreed as well.

“That settles it for me,” he spoke up, returning Tia’s smile with one of his own. Without thinking, he stood up and moved toward the liquor cart she was standing at, wrapping his arms around her waist and bending his head to kiss her lightly on the neck a couple times.

“If you’re going, then I’m going, too,” he said, a happy grin on his face. He looked up when the Jann suddenly piled in, Ardesmar announcing that they would continue their search through the ruins after they all ate.

“It’s getting a little crowded in here,” he said, giving Tia a hopeful look. “Want to maybe go for a walk or something? I promise not to make out with you unless we come across a suitably dark, secluded corner of the tower.”
