Subject: Confusing encounter
In reply to: Tristan 's message, "Looking for Corum" on 01:38:10 02/12/02 Tue

When the wall reached out and grabbed Tia, Isobel rushed forward to try to help. But despite all her hacking she might as well have been simply screaming insults at the wall for all the good it did. Each time she damaged one of the arms another came to take its place.

Finally, after what seemed an eternity, Saras intervened yelling some nonsense about not harming the wall. What about what the wall was doing to Tia and Rowan? But she didn't have time to dwell on it because some sort of horrible hairy creature was lumbering toward her from out of the darkness!

"Madre del Dios, you are one ugly hombre," she commented to it before swinging her sword at the thing, the blade cutting deeply into its side. She hacked off an arm then, and the thing howled loudly, slapping at her with its remaining hand. She quickly ducked out of the way and as the beast lunged at her, she shoved her sword toward it, letting the stupid creature impale itself on her weapon. She felt slimy monster blood ooze out onto her hands and she kicked the creature back, yanking her sword from its body as it fell dead before her.

She heard Tristan and Barry shouting about Corum then and, looking wildy around for Ravin to make sure he was safe, she ran toward Tristan's shouts, nearly tripping over the fallen Sharm as she ran.

Barry insisted that the Sharm had gotten Corum, but Tristan led them into the city rather than toward the tower the Sharm supposedly occupied. Perhaps they had taken Corum along a circuitous route to throw off the trail?

They were heading off to find Corum, but what about Tia and Rowan? Where had they gone? Someone should be looking for them, no?

"Here, boy," she called to the dog, who trotted up wagging and drooling. She scratched his ears softly. "Can you find our friends, boy? They are somewhere around here..." She hadn't really expected the dog to listen, but it barked and ran off.

*~*~*~*~*

The large dog smelled people. There hadn't been any people in this place except the hairless ones for a long time. Those hairless people didn't like him and would throw things at him when he came near, so he soon learned to avoid them.

But these new people didn't smell like the hairless ones and he excitedly made his way toward them, holding his nose in the air and sniffing every so often to make sure he was going the right way.

Finally he found them and trotted toward them excitedly barking. A female turned toward him with a long stick in her hand but she didn't hit him with it and he was glad. She scratched his ears and spoke softly to him. "Can you find our friends, boy? They are somewhere around here..." she said.

He had smelled them and they weren't very far away. He wagged his tail and barked, tearing off toward where he had smelled the other people.

Around a building, past a well... there they were. He ran toward them barking happily stopping as he got near. They seemed startled and the male acted like he was going to throw a rock at the dog, but the female stopped him.

The dog trotted up to the female and barked, then turned as if to go. He turned back to her, looking at her expectantly. He barked again. Follow...follow
