Jade had been sitting on the edge of the slab in her cell, dully watching the new kid breathe in and out. She was beginning to shiver now. It was quite cold in the unheated cell block and without her clothing she had no way to keep warm. The damned shackle prevented her using any magic to warm herself, just as it prevented her from freeing herself.

She heard a noise outside the door and assumed it was more of the blasted Sharm coming to give her rice or ogle her or something. But to her surprise, a group of strangers burst into the room, dispatching the two Sharm guards that had been lounging idly by the door.

They began to search the cells and soon found the newcomer. These must be the people the Sharm had been worried about. Well, good for them! They found their friend and prounounced him A-Ok. She cleared her throat.

"Ahem..."

A tall, dark haired man turned to her and she had to suppress a gasp. There was something about the man that seemed... familiar somehow. But not quite that. It was as if she recognized him without actually knowing who he was. That didn't make much sense, but sometimes these things didn't. Suddenly she felt almost embarrassed about her nakedness.

“If we free you, will you keep quiet?” the man said in a low voice. He was speaking in both common and Neromban. "Well, do we have a deal?"

She rolled her eyes. "No, I'll yell for my captors to come shove me back in here... of course I'll keep quiet! Now get me out of here!" She said in common.

But before the dark man could do anything another fellow stepped forward, bashing the lock open with a chunk of fallen rock. She winced at the racket it made. "So much for keeping quiet," she muttered under her breath. The fellow stepped in and wrapped his cloak around her, much to her relief. She clutched the cloak tighter around her, her shivering subsiding slightly.

The man then went and stood beside one of his companions, petulantly saying he hoped the noise had woken the whole city. She shook her head. "There are things in this city you do NOT want to notice you," she said with a shiver that had nothing to do with the cold.

A floating skull suddenly hurled itself at her and she stepped back reflexively before realizing it was with her rescuers. "Hellooooo beautiful!" the strange creature said cheerfully. She had to grin at that. "Baby, I don't care if you got no hair... you can rub my lobes anytime."

Her laughter was light and musical and she shook her head. "You're pretty sexy for a skull, all right."

"Eh... why don't we blow this popstand and go somewhere more private?" the skull leered at her.

"Well... maybe because I'm still shackled to the wall, for one thing," she answered, a hint of annoyed amusement in her voice.
