Tia leaned back against Rowan as he whispered in her ear, telling her that he was going to use her as a shield should the cat decide to attack him. She smiled widely, not at his words, but at how nice it felt to be held in his arms. Just as she thought about giving him a kiss she felt something near her crotch and almost slapped Rowan. When she realized it was the dog's snout and not the elf's hand that was there, she laughed then shooed the mutt away from her. "Go sniff at Laurel!" she said, giving the woman an impish grin when she gave her a stiff look.

She moved away from Rowan to peer over Isobel's shoulder as she looked at the map she had copied. When she learned that the Sharm had taken Corum she agreed that they should all head to the west tower since that would be the most likely place for them to take a prisoner.

As they followed along behind Isobel, Jeremy explained how Saras had made the wall open a number of escape routes before they both fell asleep. "Then it was because of you that the rope ladder appeared," Tia said, her eyes turning to the genie. "Thank you. Without your help Rowan and I might have never gotten out of that thing." The petite thief went on to tell her companions about the moon disk they found and some of the other treasures they picked up. Everyone was so engrossed by her tale they failed to notice Isobel's sudden disappearance until it was too late.

They ran forward while shouting out her name. Tia nearly bumped into her when she suddenly stepped out from a building. The thief peeked inside, a grimace crossing her face when she saw the beheaded ghoul lying on the floor. Before she could comment on it, Isobel suggested they get to the tower and they all hurried off again.

The group came to an abrupt stop a short time later when a number of ghouls stepped out from behind buildings in the distance to block their path. Immediately, Tia slid out the wand from her belt and aimed it at one of the monstrosities before mouthing the magic word. When a thin stream of flame shot out and engulfed the ghoul in flames, she actually giggled in delight. She could learn to love such magical devices since they were much easier to use than her sword.

Jeremy turned at the sound of heavy footsteps and saw Justin and the Jann running in their direction. They were still too far away to arrive in time to help them with the ghouls that stood before them. The otherworldly youth withdrew his sword in time to block a blow by one of the creature's blades. The claws of the ghouls other hand scraped across his neck though, making him yelp in pain. Jeremy back stepped to put some distance between himself and the creature then did his best to fend it off with his sword. The thing howled when he managed to slice its arm. The ghoul attacked him with a vengeance then, its sword and claws moving too rapidly for Jeremy to follow and guard himself properly.
