Subject: Questions for Saras

Jeremy was awestruck by the centaurs since he had only read about such creatures in fantasy books back home. Who knew they actually existed? This world he now found himself in was certainly filled with all sorts of amazing things! Hell, he hadn't seen such cool stuff even when he had been tripping on drugs a little over a year ago!

Once they reached the lush oasis where the centaurs made their camp, Jeremy took a seat next to Saras by one of the fires. He was anxious to continue the conversation they started when they left the Jann tribe. It was really nice to have someone to talk to for a change. Lately, Rowan seemed to be ignoring him in favor of spending more time with Tia and Erlic. And whenever he got too close to Marz, Tristan would glare at him and make snide comments. Jerk! What the hell did Marz see in that stuck up dragon anyway?

Carefully, he reached into the pan and withdrew one of the fried snakes. He had eaten fried squid and that rocked, so maybe snakes tasted just as good. A smile crossed his lips after he bit into the meat. "Tastes just like chicken!" he chirped, a moment later. After a few more bites of the snake, he pulled out two cans of Pepsi, offering one to Saras. He showed the genie how use the little metal tab on top to magically poke a hole at the top of the can to drink from.

While Jeremy washed the remainder of his snake down with some soda, an idea popped into his head. "You won't poof until Ravin makes three wishes, true?" When Saras nodded, he continued. "What if we convince him to make only two? Then you can hang around with us forever……..well at least until Ravin dies, if I understood you correctly."

Jeremy scratched at his bright red hair and grinned. "If Ravin decided to make all three wishes then I can make sure I snatch the flask just as he make the last one. Then I can bring you back to life, right?" Suddenly, the otherworldly youth got all excited. "If that happened, I promise that I'd keep you around for a long time, Saras." As he picked up another snake from the bowl, Jeremy wondered just how powerful a genie was. "My parents died in a plane crash on my world, " he said rather solemnly. "If you were MY genie and I wished for my parents to be alive again, would my wish come true?"

After carefully lowering himself into a sitting position by the fire, Ravin pulled an apple from his pocket that he had swiped from Kazabet's kitchen. The fruit was a little soft but it was more appealing then the fried snakes that sat in the bowl before them. As he bit into the apple his eyes took in the beautiful oasis and the many centaurs that roamed around the area. He had never encountered centaurs before and was surprised to find them so friendly.

With his mouth full of apple, he turned to face Isobel when she sat down beside him and asked him a number of questions. He swallowed the fruit then gave her a smile. "Actually, I feel much better, thanks to Val's healing magic and his awful tasting medicine." Ravin glanced at the lovely body of water that made up the oasis. Maybe he could take a quick bath in it later since his body felt all sticky from the blood that had covered him earlier.

"As for the Sharm," he said, turning back to Isobel, "I've never heard of them. And, the only information I know about the ruins of Twilight is what the Jann told us. I must admit that I found what they had to say quite interesting. I'm rather anxious to explore hidden temples beneath the sand that house vaults heaping with the treasures of the lost civilization of Twilight."

Judging by the look that came to Isobel's face, she too was excited about investigating such a place. "While we're waiting for Ebessa to return and tell us about the Sharm, I think I'll practice my letters. Maybe you can help me with the spelling of a few words. The faster I learn, the faster I can write you those love letters." He gave her a teasing wink then dug through his pack. As he pulled out the slate and chalk Laurel had given him, his eyes fell upon Saras, who sat across the fire from them. Didn't the genie say he would grant him three wishes?

"Saras!" he called out, drawing the genies attention away from Jeremy. "I really WISH I knew how to read and write." This was something the thief had wanted to be able to do for a long time therefore the wish came from his heart. Ravin held the chalk to the slate and waited for the genie's magic to work on him.
