Author: Marz
Subject: Anyone for breakfast at 1AM?

As usual, Marz wished that he could linger in bed with his lover for a few hours, but knew that was out of the question. The life of an adventurer sucks at times! He yawned then dozed off again until Tristan's elbow accidentally jabbed him in the ribs.

After another yawn, he sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes before looking around their gloomy quarters. He vaguely remembered lighting the lamps and candles he found in the tent before falling asleep in Tristan's arms. The damn things didn't provide any of the warmth Marz was hoping was.

Of course it would have been smarter to sleep before one of the roaring campfires outside, but he didn't regret their decision to remain in the frigid tent. Intimacy was rare with Tristan, making Marz jump at any opportunity to be alone with him. A smile played at the corners of his mouth when he remembered their lovemaking. Tristan seemed to enjoy it more each time, and that was pleasurable in itself since a tense, rigid partner wasn't much of a turn-on.

A frown covered his face when he saw the dragon reach over to pull a pair of pants from their clothes bag. Now that he was fully awake, he recalled his wrinkled clothing. The realization that his lover was a slob shifted his happy mood to one of aggravation. He was about to give Tristan a lecture on the benefits of neatness, but the words died on his lips when he was pulled into a kiss. The dragon certainly knew what it took to shut him up quickly! His entire body was flooded by some kind of magical warmth when Tristan said he loved him. Hearing those three little words made him feel absolutely awesome because again, Tristan rarely spoke about his feelings.

"I love you too," he whispered, while finger combing the dragon's hair, which always seemed to be a tangled mess. Although another round of lovemaking was tempting, he pushed away the thought when his amplified hearing picked up the heavy footsteps of the Jann moving around outside the tent. "I think it's almost time to hit that road in search of the Sea of Salt. We better get dressed and get something to eat cause I'm starving again."

Marz tossed off the blankets, making them shiver in the cold night air. Quickly, they dressed, with Marz donning a long, dark cloak for extra warmth. He picked up the clothes they discarded earlier, folding them neatly into his pack before slipping his arms through the straps and letting the bag rest against his back. As long as he kept it away from Tristan, he wouldn't have to worry about the garments being disrupted again.

"Let's eat," he chirped, leading them directly to the food tent. Marz noticed a very angry looking Tia standing in the far corner of the tent surrounded by Rowan, Jeremy, and Saras. "The pretty, little blonde looks awfully pissed," he whispered to Tristan before focusing on the table of food in front of them.

Marz loaded a plate with spicy Neromba sausages, pungent cheese, and flat bread then filled a large mug with stronge java. When Tristan finished doing the same, the ex-gang leader suggested they eat their meal by the fire. Once they were situated on the ground before the blazing flames, Marz glanced around, wondering where Corum was. "If turdface isn't here soon, we'll have to find his tent and drag his ass outta bed," he said, before taking a bite of the sausage.

Judging by the position of the stars, it was about an hour past midnight. As he sipped his java, his eyes fell upon a number of Jann approaching the camels to prepare them for travel. "I bet we'll be leaving in about an hour or so, Tris."
