Then again… maybe it’s best he does that. It isn’t as if I could grant the wishes properly. Sarosh thought, his mood becoming bluer. His eyes focussing on a gold band around his wrist. He knew he wasn’t doing a good job as a Genie… but how could he, when his human didn’t even want his wishes? Believing Ravin to now be too afraid of the consequences of the wishes, he almost began to cry again. He would have, had his mind not been racing, wondering how long Ravin’s fear would keep him from using the flask. The temptation to use it…unless one had everything they could possibly want… was quite strong. And Saras almost wished he would use it. What was Sarosh otherwise, if he wasn’t to serve the humans? He wanted to look over and ask“why don’t you want me?” but by the time he had found the courage, Ravin had pulled out the flask and looked to be admiring it.
"And I don’t see why you keep saying this is so ugly. I think it’s a great flask and personally I find such an item a lot more useful than a silly lamp!"
SILLY lamp?! Wait.. USEFUL?! Sarosh’s eyes almost shot through his head at Ravin’s words. Ravin was going to use his flask?! Not only was Saras going to have to live in a flask…but Ravin was actually going to Use it?! Sarosh almost felt tears in his eyes again. How had he gotten so unlucky to be stuck with someone who didn’t respect the lamp, and then wanted to use his home to drink from!! Yes. Sarosh wanted to cry. What sort of human had be been found by?! What sort of strange, un-natural creature was his master?! A man who didn’t want wishes ..well. That I can understand. I wouldn’t want wishes from Me either… and who would use his Genie’s home-- his very symbol of power, to drink ale from!
"Sounds like there might be some trouble. We have assassins following us so I hope you know how to defend yourself should the need arise because I don't want to see you get hurt. Now, let's go join the others and see what's going on over there."
Before Sarosh could exclaim his dismay at the idea of his home being used to hold a beverage, Ravin was leaning close and whispering about Assassins. Sarosh glanced at Ravin, wondering if he was serious. But when it looked as if he was, he scrambled to his feet to follow. He should be near, just in case. He was afterall, tied to Ravin because of the flask, until he used up his wishes, or died. Whichever came first. He tagged along behind Ravin, looking around for his friend Jeremy, but didn’t see him anywhere. Sighing somewhat and missing the youth‘s magical bag of food and interesting things, he proceeded to follow Ravin and ended up watching the strange happenings with the Mirror,Erlic and Laurel .
“There’s a man trapped inside the mirror,” Erlic said as Ravin approached. Ravin peered down into the mirror, and Sarosh over the side of his arm, curious, but not curious enough to stray too close. You could never tell what was in these normally normal items. He for example had been asleep in a regular old flask. Sarosh watched with curiosity as Erlic Laurel and the kitten worked on solving the problem. Sarosh wanted to tell them to stop, to tell them not to tamper with things. If there really were someone trapped in the mirror, then weren’t they there for a reason? Had anyone thought to ask the centaurs before they tried to release them? Slightly fearful, Sarosh folded the fingers of his hands around Ravin’s sleeve, wishing that the glowing that had begun would stop! And stop before something bad happened.
The frame continued to grow brighter, until Saras felt tears bordering in them. He didn’t want to look away, but he had to shield his eyes. He did so by burying them in Ravin’s shoulder as a bright flash erupted. When he could look again, instead of a mirror, there was a man.
this is not right! This is not good!! he thought, clinging to Ravin’s arm a little bit tighter and forgetting his earlier problems. They would return to haunt him, but for now, he was frightened of whatever had come out of the mirror. Only magical things came from other things. Magical creatures, or beings being punished for something. And much of the time, imprisonment could drive a being mad.
“…what.. what is it?” Sarosh asked, looking up at Ravin, his voice not much more then a whisper.
