Valhorek watched as Isobel finished tracing the sketch on the ground onto the parchment. Now that he thought about it, it was a very good idea. There was no trusting one’s memory, and hoping that it came correctly when it was needed the most.

Her explanation about the bird made sense, considering he didn’t know that much about animals. And since the bird was nibbling on his finger, he decided to give it something to eat, but the question was what? Perhaps it could take bits of meat, after all it was a falcon, and it was known that falcons preyed on other animals.

He found a bit of meat, and tore it into tiny pieces, trying to feed it as Isobel, and he walked over to where the others were standing over something. It appeared to be some sort of commotion judging by all the people gathered in the one area.

Surprisingly enough, Jamal actually started to eat the food. Well, if nothing else, Valhorek was happy about that. He would have to watch over the animal until it was healthy enough to fly away on its own strength. Until that time arrived, he would care for it as he would any other patient.

He, and Isobel finally arrived at the scene, and stared at the man lying in the sand, and speaking with a very strange dialect. Val had to concentrate a bit to actually piece what he was trying to say.

"Drink it slowly? Berd, ay 'aven't 'ad any wati in yer wha must be a dozun years at least! Ay am not go'n ter drink it slowly!"

From what Val could discern, the man had just stated that he hadn’t had any water in what must be a dozen years. But how was that possible? No one could survive without water for such a long time. “Here, hold Jamal,” he asked Isobel as he placed the bird into her arms.

Val approached the man. “My name is Valhorek, and I’m a healer,” he stated. “If you’ll allow it, I can see to any wounds you might have.”

Valhorek waited for a response from the man. Since he really didn’t know exactly what was happening, he decided to be on the safe side.
