Subject: candy makes everything better

Saras wasn’t sure, for a while, if he was awake or if he had passed out. He was sure that his eyes were open and that he was looking around at things, but the world wasn’t fully real in his mind. There was too much fire and shaking and thunder in the air for it to be real. In a way, it was like Home...a place of magic and fire... But after a time, it began to settle, and he found himself looking at Jeremy, who was saying something, but he couldn’t quite fully make out the words. FInally as the spinning stopped fully he heard the boy mention accounts of the iffrit and the tree, which he remembered, but in a detached sort of way… Even tho an act like that used to have been common place and easy and had required no effort at all, this time, it hadn’t been so easy, and like the wish, hurt inside, more then he could describe.

Still, he couldn’t suppress the smile of pride when Jeremy complimented him. He was too vain and too proud, and too much of a sucker for flattery. One part of him knew that he should have been confused and even a little frightened about what was happening to his magic. It was so unpredictable and strange… He smiled, although it was a rather weak and tired smile. Pain pinched the edges of his eyes and he wanted nothing more then to curl into a tight ball until he felt better. But a show of weakness like that... it would simply be undignified, and he couldn't have that.

“I‘m glad it worked… I don‘t think I could do it again, even if I wanted to.” he said quietly to Jeremy. He stroked one hand lightly along the boy’s arm while he fed him some of the pepsi. The youth’s otherworldly food taking away tiny amounts of the discomfort he’d been feeling, and which had felt like gnawing inside. "It hurts.." he said, although his sickness was slowly being replaced with just a general state of discomfort and weakness. He dearly hoped that no one would want him to move for a while. If nothing else, Jeremy’s body , cradling his head was warm and soft, and far more comfortable then the ground, and the pepsi and strange, sweet candy making him feel better little bit by little bit.
