Subject: Make over?
In reply to: Ravin and Tia 's message, "Ditto" on 10:54:25 01/08/02 Tue

"No, I suppose we can't be certain that these Jann aren't just trying to delay us until the assassins arrive," Ravin said quietly to Isobel. "In this world, its always hard knowing who to trust so sometimes you just have to rely on gut instinct and mine tells me that the Jann mean us no harm. Of course I could be wrong, therefore I suggest we keep our eyes and ears open and be prepared for anything."

She nodded, holding his gaze a moment before turning back to the table and piling a plate high with delicious-looking food. "All right, Seņor Ravin. Perhaps I am simply too jumpy knowing there are assassins following us."

She took her plate out to where the others were gathered and sat down near Marz and Tristan. They were discussing putting makeup on that skull Corum had on the end of his staff. She couldn't help but laugh. "You are all loco!" she grinned at them, shaking her head.

She ate her meal slowly, pausing only to glare at Justin, who thankfully only winked lewdly at her before going off to sit by himself. She did not think she could eat with the stench of that man wafting over her. (She knew he had been washed but his personal aroma was beginning to reclaim him already.)

Her leg was throbbing but, surprisingly, was not as painful as she would have expected. However, it did itch like mad and she had to fight the urge to scratch it. She looked around at the Jann as she chewed a piece of fruit. They were certainly large and muscular, and some of them were not at all unattractive... but the women! They dressed as if they were putas... Well, perhaps out in this desert heat it was better than covering oneself completely. She herself wore a simple sleeveless tunic, pantalones, and her cloak to cover against the sun and wind. She looked down at herself. Her clothing was practical but it was torn and dirty and covered in blood now. Ugh.

Finishing her meal, she stood and approached one of the females, speaking quietly to her. The female seemed to giggle and Isobel followed her off to one of the tents. After some time she emerged, clad in an outfit similar to the Jann women's only much smaller and with less flowing material that could get in her way in a fight. The top of her new clothes was a muted green and hugged her body, ending just below her breasts. The pantalones were close-fitting and matched the top. She had them tucked into her boots, and her cloak adorned her shoulders. She had kept her vambraces, which were made of tooled leather and which she considered essential. Her sword and bandellero finished off the "look".

She strode back to her seat, trying not to limp, and sat back down, sipping her water and trying to ignore the stares she was given. When she saw Marz staring at her she said simply, "My clothes were nearly shredded. This may be the last chance to get new ones before we reach our destination, and this was all they had that would fit."

She did wish her leg would stop itching.

Barry floated far above the camp, looking down on it. The fleshies were chowing down, he could tell. He barely remembered what food tasted like, but he did remember that he had enjoyed it. Well, some of it.

He wondered about going down there, but the thought of becoming the ingredient in some Jann potion or the centerpiece for some Jann sheikh's big ol' turban kept him where he was. Besides, the view of the Jann chits was pretty good from up here. In fact, he could see right down their skimpy little tops. Ohhh yeah, the scenery in the desert was hot. It was a good thing he couldn't drool.
