After handing Marz his disguise kit, Ravin turned his attention back to Isobel. The woman certainly seemed to harbor mistrust for everyone they came in contact with. Or maybe I'm just too damn trusting. He had to admit that he often took people at their word and had found out later that they had lied to him. Maybe someday he would learn to become a little more cautious with people and stop trying so hard to see only their good points.

"No, I suppose we can't be certain that these Jann aren't just trying to delay us until the assassins arrive," he said in answer to her query. "In this world, its always hard knowing who to trust so sometimes you just have to rely on gut instinct and mine tells me that the Jann mean us no harm. Of course I could be wrong, therefore I suggest we keep our eyes and ears open and be prepared for anything."

His brown eyes held hers for a moment then he turned to finish filling up his plate before making his way outside. Although the Jann didn't bother him, he was quite disturbed by the knowledge that assassins were hunting for them at this very moment. He sat down upon a boulder some distance away from the main camp, and surveyed their surroundings while sipping his ale. A small wooded area stood off to the south, and a number of tall rocks, as well as a few trees graced the area. They were the only places the assassins would find cover once they arrived.

A half dozen of the huge Jann males patrolled the parameter of their camp so that seemed to be the safest place to be at the moment. Since it made sense that the assassins would wait until nightfall before attempting to launch any attack, it might be wise for him and his companions to get some sleep now before the afternoon sun sunk below the horizon. Once rested they could then remain on guard all night long and proceed to the Sea of Salt by the light of day. The assassins would be more hesitated to attack at that time especially since the terrain was rather barren, robbing them of any attempt at stealth.

Ravin nibbled at the food on his plate while continuing to think of ways to thwart the Slayers who probably wouldn't give up until they had Alakbar back.

By the time they reached the Jann campground, Tia's vision had improved immensely. Things were still a bit hazy, but at least she was now able to distinguish between the faces of her friends. She thanked Laurel for assisting her then said that she'd like to try moving about the camp on her own for a time after explaining that her eyesight had improved. At first the druidess was hesitant to release her arm but finally did so once Tia assured her that she would be fine.

The petite thief made her way into the food tent and studied the items on the table. She smiled when she found that squinting a bit really brought things into focus. Tia helped herself to fruit and cheese since she wasn't a very big meat eater. After filling a glass with wine, she left the tent and had to blink a few times to adjust her eyes to the sudden brightness again. She smiled when she saw Corum and his friends sitting beneath one of the tarps then slowly made her way there. "I'm almost able to see perfectly again," she announced proudly before taking a seat beside the skull-staff wielder.
