Subject: Up, up and awaaaaaayyyyyy!
In reply to: Erlic, Corum & Yorik 's message, "Messing things up, and not messing up" on 19:35:02 12/05/01 Wed

Barry's blissful daydreams were rudely interrupted by that addle-cove, who seemed to decide that now was the time to put the moves on Tia. Barry yelped as Corum picked him up and looked into his eyes. "Heya, Chief. Longtime no see. Would ya mind puttin' me back down? I was just gettin' comfy..." It was then that Corum threw Barry up into the air.

"Whooooaaaa!! Hey!!!" Barry flew up, up, up... okay he mostly floated, but he had to make it look good. He turned and looked down. The planes-touched addle-cove was snuggling in Tia's lap! Barry opened and shut his jaw in indignation. "You coulda just asked me to move!" He yelled, then disgorged a large but harmless snake from his mouth. It dropped straight down onto Corum's head, and Barry quickly flew away toward Isobel, who was messing around with her pack by the fire.

"Heya Baby! How's about knockin' foreheads with ol' Barry?" He called happily to her.

Isobel looked up. "Ay! Perverted skull!" She chuckled and patted the rock next to her. "You may rest here but if you touch me I will gouge out your other eye," she told him.

"Ehhh... friendly dame, ain'tcha?" Barry said as he floated down and lit on the rock next to Isobel. He watched enviously as she drank her java. "I remember java... it was good. Smelled good too. A little milk, a little sugar... deeeelish!"

Isoble smiled at the skull. "You must miss being whole very much," she commented.

"Well, sure I do! Who wouldn't! Damn that cleric!" Barry said, feeling suddenly embarrassed. Embarrassment always made him defensive and he practically spat, "I gotta watch you soddin' fleshies enjoyin' all the things I used to. You know what's the worst? I go through the ages and come back again and again and little by little my memory goes... I forget who I am... or was. I can't remember my family or my friends. Did I have kids? I dunno. They're long dead by now if I did," he paused and seemed to be staring into the fire (of course it always looked like he was staring since he had no eyelids). "The worst part though... is I can remember exactly how it felt to have a body. To taste... to smell... to feel things... the cleric made sure of that. 'Forever knowing what you cannot have.' That's the worst part."

Isobel nodded as she looked at the skull, who seemed small and sad right now - just a bodiless skull laying on the rock next to her. She reached over and patted Barry's bare skull. Then the disgusting creature ruined everything by hopping into her lap and trying to nuzzle up to her breasts!

"So you wanna make me feel better?" he asked. Isobel grabbed him and threw him across the camp. "Dames!!!" He shouted irritably he sailed through the air once again.
