Marz was glad to be sitting down because his ankle throbbed like hell from all the walking they had done. It would be healed by now if he hadn't put such a strain on it. If he could keep most of his weight off of it, his ankle should be as good as new within an hour's time. Although he was grateful that his body healed so quickly, he often wondered why he was blessed with the ability to rapidly recover from injury. Perhaps he had demon blood flowing through his veins like Kisa did since they were so remarkably alike.

When he heard Isobel call Justin a disgusting pig, Marz didn't try to suppress his laughter. He really enjoyed hearing her detailed description of what she would do to the merc if he dared to come near her. Imagining Justin with his intestines wrapped around his neck then being served his testicles for breakfast made him feel all warm and cozy inside. After Isobel stomped off to join Erlic, he met the merc's eyes. "You lost the bet. Where's my ten gold?"

Justin scowled at the ex-gang leader. "The night's not over yet! She's just teasin' me by playing hard to get is all. I guarantee we'll be sharing a cave later." With that said, the merc rushed off to find suitable quarters for himself and the fiery woman.

"It's gonna be so great to see Isobel gut that bastard," Marz said to Tristan, who was in the process of gulping down the contents of his coconut-shell cup. A look of revulsion crossed the ex-gang leader's face a moment before he took a sip from his own cup. "Yuck! I’m not drinking this raking crap!" He shoved the cup into Tristan's hands then pulled out his juice flask.

As Marz lifted the flask to his lips he caught sight of the women that were naked from the waist up. He smiled, thoroughly enjoying the view until Tristan startled him by grabbing his arm in a death grip. "What the hell is wrong with you?" he hissed. His stomach turned when he followed the dragon's eyes to the pot holding the live tarantulas. "I'm NOT eating that shit, either!"

Marz jumped slightly when a heavy backpack came flying into his lap. He looked up to find Tia giving him an impish grin. "I remembered to take the supplies off the Roc that the old bag of a Queen had packed for us. Hopefully, there's some decent food in there."

Since sharing a ride on the undead Roc with Tristan, Tia felt a little closer to the dragon. She sat down beside him and watched Marz proceed to check out the contents of the bag. Jeremy slid closer to the ex-gang leader and pointed out that he had a ton of goodies in his backpack that they could feast on if nothing else was available.

A smile lit up Marz's face when he found a bunch of cooked camel steaks, individually wrapped in some kind of magical paper that kept them fresh. He passed them around along with some apples and cornbread biscuits. Jeremy handed out cans of Pepsi and candy bars for desert then they got on with the task of eating while Laurel and Rowan supplied dinner music.

While scarfing down his steak, Marz listened intently to the song that was being played. For some reason, he had a very deep love of music, but he never admitted that to anyone before. When the song ended, he tossed the remainder of his steak to Urchin, who scurried around nearby then got to his feet.

A few short steps took Marz directly to the prissy druidess and her crazy brother. Without warning, he grabbed the lute right out of Laurel's hands and strummed a few sour sounding cords. "I always wanted to learn how to play an instrument," he chirped. He took a step closer to Laurel, his dark eyes boring into hers. "How about you teach me, beautiful?" he asked with a grin.

Tia stared at Marz for a moment then turned her attention to Tristan. "You can have the rest of my steak if you want it," she said, setting more than half of the remaining piece of meat before him on the magical paper. Jeremy might be blind to the relationship that Marz and Tristan shared, but Tia could tell there was something special going on between the two men.

"You love him don't you?" she whispered to the dragon. "From the way he looks at you it's easy to see that he loves you too." Tia shined up the apple with the corner of her blouse then took a bite of the fruit. "I've never been in a relationship before," he admitted quietly. "But, I've overheard people say that it takes an awful lot of work to keep one together. Are you finding that to be true, or does love automatically make everything work perfectly?"
