I would love to see someone shut down the Karl Rove smear machine and all the others on both sides so that more people would be encouraged not just to run for office but to vote. It just may be that here in NC, we actually will be a MAJOR player in the deciding factor. We're usually so yesterday's news by the time the primary rolls around. When did the primary season begin so early? Seems like when I was young - the primaries were in May, the conventions (which used to be interesting to watch to learn who the candidate would be) was in the summer, and the general was in Nov. Janet, I see your point, but I feel that it is tampering with the vote. In some states you cannot cross party lines in primaries. My state is one of them. Limbaugh is telling his listeners to change parties for the purpose of this vote and then switch back again for the general election in Nov. That is obvious vote manipulation. I have no problem with voters crossing party lines to vote in Nov. That has always been permitted. Did anyone catch Obama's speech on race in this country this morning. My God! He is so, so brilliant! He spoke for a long time on so many issues, revealing his heart and referring to written notes for one brief moment. It was sweeping, moving and historic.
