I guess I should be surprised that his funeral took place in a Metropolitan Community Church. He was a great supporter of gay rights. I even remember a picture of him in a gay pride parade riding a bicycle and pulling a gay banner or something like that.

Not sure who can fill his shoes but I am hopeful that the image of him campaigning in the spring, cane in hand (recovering from hip surgery) and that amazing smile can help all of us stay strong and focused on keeping his legacy of fighting for the underdog alive.
