Author: The Ig Matthews Band!
Subject: :-) A musical interlude.
In reply to: Amanda Vegita-Williams Hashiba Curtindolph 's message, "THANK YOU! I love you, Iggy-chan. (Grabs Kaiba and leads him off to his new quarters) I claim Kaiba as an MSTer to be used only by Tay and myself." on 10:11:46 02/11/03 Tue

(A stage appears on the board. It is dark. Suddenly, a spotlight shines on Yusuke at the back of the stage. He is seated behind a large professional drum set. He begins to pound a simple rhythm on a snare drum for four counts. Then, two more spotlights shine on Rei and Tenchi, each at opposite ends of the stage. Tenchi plays on a suprano saxophone, while Rei is fiddling on her violin. The play a simple tune for eight beats. More lights shine on Death Giver, playing bass guitar; Liam, on acustic guitar; Ash on harmonica; and Akane playing piano. Iggy walks onto the stage playing lead guitar and joins the others as they play the intro to "Ants Marching." A final spotlight finally lands on Duncan, who prceeds to sing.)

DUNCAN: (Singing) He wakes up in the mornin',
Does his teeth, a bite to eat, and he's rollin'.
He never changes a thing.
The week ends, the week begins.
She thinks, "We look at each other
And wonder what the other is thinking,
But we never say a thing
And these crimes between us grow deeper."

(At this point, Tenchi and Rei take the lead, dueling between each other for a for a few seconds before Duncan continues.)

DUNCAN: Take these chances...
(IGGY!: Take these chances...)
Place them in a box until a quiter time
Lights down, you up and die.
Goes to visit his mommy. She
Feeds him well, has concerns. He forgets them
And remembers being small;
Playing under the table and dreaming.
Take these chances...
(Take these chances...)
Place them in a box until a quiter time
Lights down, you up and die.

(Once again, Tenchi and Rei duel. This goes on for a period about as long as it took to sing the previous verse. Duncan retuns.)

DUNCAN: Driving the endless highway
All these cars end up on the side walk.
People in every direction.
No words exchanged, no time to exchange. (Musical breakdown)
And all the little ants are marching,
Red and black antenae waving.
They all do it the same...
They all do it the same way...

(A spotlight shines on Guido, who is mixing it up on the wheels of steel as he raps.)

GUIDO: (Rapping) Candyman tempting the thoughts of a
Sweet tooth tortued by weight loss
Program. Cutting the corners.
A loose end, loose end. Cut, cut.
On the fence, so not to offend.
Cut, cut, cut-cut. (Back to the song)

DUNCAN: Take these chances...
(Take these chances...)
Place them in a box until a quiter time
Lights down, you up and die.

(There is one more duel, this time between Akane's piano and Tenchi. This one is rather shourt as Rei leads afterwards, playing in a rather Bluegrass style to the tune. Tenchi once again takes over, as the other musicians/MSTers build the tension in the chords until Tenchi stops playing. Then the guitars lead. Iggy!, DG, and Liam play a rather jazzy, improvisational interpretation of the chourus. Yusuke supercedes on drums for a few beats, then the whole band joins in on jazzing out the song for a whole minute before retuning to the original beat to end the concert.)

DUNCAN: Lights down you up and die... (Song ends. Lights fade, and the stage, including all who are on it, dissapears. Rose then walks out, hands glowing, as her magic was used to create the spotlight affects.)

ROSE:You should hear them when they do their interpretation of "Kashmir" by Led Zepelin." (She too dissapears.)

"Ants Marching," by The Dave Matthews Band.
